Although uncommon, it is not unheard of for a Cainite to become a wraith upon Final Death, especially if the circumstances surrounding her demise are especially emotional or violent. Luis' murder could qualify as both, and thus, upon his meeting Final Death, he passed into the Underworld, becoming a wraith. However, the experience affected him greatly, to the point of severely fragmenting his mind.

When ordered by
Grand Inquisitor Anthony Livingstone to locate Luis' ghost, and obtain all the information he had on the subject of the Armageddon Prophecy, the Temple embarked upon a dangerous journey into the Underworld, to find Luis. This they eventually managed to accomplish, but, arriving in a strange building known as the Sanctuary, they found Luis to be in a state of apathetic madness. Whether cryptically relevant or random insanity, Luis' various remarks to his Cainite visitors had great effect on many of them, particularly Zy, Zax, Mortis and Tulula.

However, the general consensus on Luis was that, while insightful, he is no longer of any real use to the Sabbat, and thus his tortured, raving spirit remains locked away in the dark recesses of the Sanctuary.
Tzimisce. Luis represented the power of the Sabbat incarnate, as Cardinal of Europe. Based in the Languedoc - Southern France - Luis maintained a household of power and respect, as he ruled the continent with the full force of the Sabbat.

Cardinal Luis, a personal friend of
Shane Orton, was instrumental in the truth about Orton's innocence regarding the charges of treason that had been lain against him, and in the the destruction of the real traitor, Louisa Finn, who attempted to kill him once the truth had been revealed. To stop any further treachery or internal disputes, Luis despatched Gynander, of the Black Hand, to oversee affairs in the city for a short period.

Luis later intervened in the affairs of Maiden Newton once more, when he ordained
Sir Daniel Fortesque as Priscus of the South-West, and in turn elevated Bishop Semper Fi to the Bishopric of the city. However, just a week after he returned to the Languedoc (with the deserter, Bishop Solo), one of the Cardinal's aids arrived at the Temple of Maiden Newton, beaten and drained of vitae, declaring that the Cardinal had been murdered. The messenger then met Final Death as well. It has since been made official that Luis is indeed dead, and that his murderer, London, is currently being
