Patrick Solo's arrogance and anger did not make him particuarly popular with the Temple members, but nonetheless he was a loyal and capable Bishop, with high ambitions within the Sabbat.. However, this was soon to change.
When he and the rest of the Temple faced their then-nemesis, Ronald le Couronne, Solo was not, like his comrades, sucked into Hell, but instead remained in Torpor beneath the city for a week. Eventually awakening, he returned to the Temple to find that the rest had escaped Couronne's lair, but not one of them - including Fortesque or Fi - had tried looking for him (perhaps due to his unpopularity). This was outrageous to Solo, and he turned his back on the Temple, prompting Fortesque to declare a Wild Hunt on the rogue Bishop. But Patrick was not finished yet. Using his contacts and his cunning, he tracked Cardinal Luis, who was visiting the city at the time, and told him his side of the story. Luis had Solo staked and
Following Luis' death, however, Solo escaped captivity, and secretly returned to the city of Maiden Newton so that he could plot his revenge. With the help of a Tzimisce ally, he transformed himself into Zax, a City Gangrel, and successfully infiltrated the Temple. However, after meeting with the deceased Luis in the Underworld, Solo's secret was revealed, and he was again cast out of the Temple, this time by Archbishop F, and the Wild Hunt against him was re-iterated. Subsequently, in a joint effort by Priscus Fortesque, Sanguinus Vitae, Archbishop Fi and Bishop Orton, Solo was caught, and destroyed by Fortesque.
