| Mortal. Hope Spearman was the only daughter of parents Andrew and Caroline. Caroline died in labour, but baby Hope survived. However, just hours later she was abducted from Thomas Pittwood Memorial, where she was born, by the Sabbat of Maiden Newton. Andrew Spearman intervened in this, but was killed by Tomsk, and the baby was taken away. There was good reason for this. Hope was born with a birthmark on the back of her neck, that of a crescent moon. This heralded her as being the Moon of which the Armageddon Prophecy speaks; its fifth portent is the Birth of the Moon, while its thirteenth and last is the Sacrifice of the Moon. Hope is therefore essential to all those who are concerned with the prophecy. Hope has already been further abducted twice, first by the Prophets, who sought to keep the baby safe until such a time as she could then be sacrificed as the Prophecy requires, and then later by Jim Turner, who had planned to take Hope into Lord Arrakon's hell realm, with a similar reasoning in mind. On both occasions, however, Hope was rescued by her original abductors, and still remains in the care of the Sabbat, namely Bishop Jemma and her ghouls. Still, with London having escaped captivity and now seeking to hasten the fulfilment of the prophecy, the time seems to be drawing near when Hope may be the deciding factor as to the survival or destruction of Humanity. Things are, however, looking much brighter for those who seek to prevent the prophecy from being fulfilled, as the Toreador antitribu, Gynander of the Black Hand, has been able to, with the assistance of the Maiden Newton Sabbat, perform an elaborate ritual, |

| guaranteeing her safety from all forms of harm, both mundane and supernatural, until she comes of age - in seventeen and a half years' time. Unknown to those who had been taking care of her, even Jemma, Hopes crescent moon birthmark has been gradually waxing ever since her birth, until, just over seven months later, it fully transformed into a full moon. This transformation however heralded something far worse than anybody could imagine, for Hope was altered into The Beast, which had been prophesied by both Cardinal Luis and Indrid Cold. This transformation has aged Hope into a young adolescent, therefore negating the ritual performed on her by Gynander and its assistants. A week later, during which The Beast had wrought much devestation upon the city, the Alliance were able to track her down, and the Samedi, Guile, killed her. However, Hope being The Beast meant that her death fulfilled the Armageddon Prophecy, and therefore Lord Arrakon was granted access to this realm, forcing the Alliance into an apocalypic showdown which, although it was ultimately successful, certainly proved difficult, and cost the Alliance many lives and unlives. |
