Hunters

without a moments consideration for the fallen. Suggestions that they are some advanced form of artificial intelligence have been made, but aside from their technological components, they seem to be completely organic beings. The current theory is that they are a cross between the X-Men and the Borg.

A link was provided between
Cornelius and the Hunters after a Hunter attack on the Sabbat Temple; Cornelius sent Priscus Fortesque a letter, claiming full responsibility. Some weeks later, during the Festivo dello Estinto, a Hunter named Lazarus presented himself to the Sabbat, claiming to have broken free of the control of his creators - Quicksilver. He provided them with details on the Hunters and how they all have a self-destruct function that can be activated from Quicksilver, before succombing to this fate himself. Priscus Fortesque immediately ordered the Sabbat infiltrate the building, locate the controls for the self-destruct function, and destroy all of the Hunters. Bishop Tomsk led the Pack of the Sane to do this, and succeeeded, although their task was made a little more complicated when the prototype for a new, more advanced Hunter, Jacob, broke free and attacked them.

Since the infiltration into Quicksilver and the destruction of the Hunters, there have been no further sightings of them, and it is believed that the threat is gone. At any rate, the death of the Hunters' creator, Dr Andrew Weir, was reported two days later.
So nicknamed by the supernaturals of the city, Hunters are strange, abnormally strong individuals who display a vast array of special powers and appendages, including additional limbs and weaponry, both organic and technological, built into the bodies. No two Hunters are alike, and until they reveal their powers or abilities, they can pass undetected as ordinary kine even uses of Auspex and Thaumaturgy have failed to distinguish them from the average mortal.

The Hunters seem only to target supernatural entities Cainites, Lupines, ghouls, Kinfolk while leaving mortals completely alone, and unscathed. For a long time, the creatures were completely untraceable; nobody seemed to know where they came from, what their agenda was, or more worryingly who they worked for. They have no mortal identifies, and could not therefore be traced to any organisation or individual. However, they do seem to be a localised phenomenon; the only incidents involving them have been in the city of Maiden Newton and the surrounding area.

What makes the Hunters so terrifying is that they are virtually unstoppable. Cutting off limbs even their heads does not kill them. It takes a great deal to wear them down, and once they are finally defeated, their bodies explode, causing great injury and destruction to the surrounding area and people. In addition, they do not back away from a fight, even if they are losing, and if one of their number is defeated for they seem to attack only in groups they will continue fighting
