| 3rd Week of September PENAFRANCIA FESTIVAL Naga City A religious festival honoring the feast day of Our Nuestra Senora de Penafrancia, the Patroness of the Bicol Region. Its highlight is the fluvial procession along the Naga River. It is a nine-day long of series of activities which starts from Translacion. 3rd week of September NATIONAL TOURISM WEEK Regionwide A week-long celebration featuring streets parades, school convocations, exhibits, press conferences, lectures/dialogues, regional tourism quiz contest and wearing of native costumes. 3rd week of September LINGGO NG KASUOTANG PILIPINO Department Of Tourism , Manila An exhibit of costumes that focuses on different periods of Philippine history. It gives importance to our attire anchoring on our culture showing the Filipino fashion sense. 3rd Week of September T�fBOLI TRIBAL FESTIVAL South Cotabato The culture of this unique tribe is celebrated in South Cotabato. September 1-5 "PAGDIRIWANG" CITY CHARTER ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION Gen. Santos City. Charter Day Celebration of Gen. Santos City. Activities are agro-industrial trade fair, pasiklaban sa plaza Kusina Gensan Food Festival, search for Binibining Gen. Santos, Song Festival, Civic-Military Parade, Pasasalamat and re-enactment of Gov. Paulino Santos First Landing. September 1-8 SARAKIKI FESTIVAL Calbayog City, Samar A street dance characterized by the movements of the cock accompanied by original Samareno musical instruments. With thrums up to form like "tahod." The performers wear costumes inspired by the appearance of the cock. September 1-29 HIN-AY FESTIVAL Irosin, Sorsogon This is a commemoration of the feast day of the town�fs Patron Saint, St. Michael the Archangel, and at the same time a rediscovery of the town�fs cultural heritage. The festival hopes to trace the struggles of the people of Irosin at various stages of its history and to renew the enthusiasm and faith among people for sustained involvement in community building. September 1 COTABATO PROVINCE FOUNDATION ANNIVERSARY Cotabato Capitol Complex Annual foundation day celebration of the Province of Cotabato. Activities include civic parade, ethnic dances, sports activities and agri-cultural trade fair. September 1 BAGUIO CHARTER DAY ANNIVERSARY Baguio City Annual celebration of the founding anniversary of the city of Baguio. September 3 TILAW SA PAGKAONG SURIGAONON Surigao City A food festival showcasing a variety of native Surigaonon dishes. It depicts the ingenuity, creativity, and artistry of the Surigaonons. September 7 PADUL-ONG Borongan, Eastern Samar A fiesta related pageants illustrating the unique indigenous religiosity of the people of Eastern Samar. "Padul-ong" relates how the Lady of Nativity became the patroness of Borongan. September 7 HUDYAKA SA BAIS CITY Bais City, Negros Oriental A colorful and lively mardi gras festival participated in by the different barangays, local and national offices in a choreographed street dancing. Magnificent floats and spectacular head dresses can also be viewed during this event. This biggest annual merry making marks the Charter Day celebration of Bais City. September 8 KARATONG FESTIVAL Dulag, Leyte The festival is religious in nature. It is about a "karatong" as a means of communication to inform the people of a moro invasion. September 8-10 ARAW NG KAGITINGAN Cabarroguis, Quirino The Anniversary of the establishment of the civil government of Quirino. Activities include an Agro-industrial Fair, parades, cultural show and others. September 9 BONOK-BONOK MARADJAO KARADJAO FESTIVAL Surigao City A colorful festival showcasing the Surigaonon�fs Tribal Culture through street dancing. It is a day-long festival marking the City�fs annual fiesta celebration. September 10 FEAST OF SAN NICOLAS TOLENTINO Naujan, Oriental Mindoro "SAYAW-LAHI": Street Dancing that showcase the town's (and Mindoro's) native dances bespeaking of the mood and true nature of Mindorenos; With other merrymakings and cultural presentations of sort. "SARANGGOLAHAN": A colorful show of kites flown freely in the vast greenfields of the town; Open for all and is held on Easter. "BANKATHON": Skills and courage of local boatsmen displayed in this breathtaking event; Held at the blue coasts of Estrella and Lagarian, on the Feast of St. John the Baptist. September 17 ARAW NG SIQUIJOR Siquijor, Siquijor Araw ng Siquijor is the province's charter day celebration with week long activities that starts on the 12th of the month. Parade, trade and food fairs, sports competition, cultural presentations performed by the different schools, search for Miss Siquijor are the activities and capped with a SOLOLO Street Dancing, depicting the marriage rituals of the Siquijodnons. September 17 VOYADORES FESTIVAL Naga City A re-enactment in manner of street dance of the transfer of the image of Our Lady of Penafrancia from the Basilica, her home shrine, to the Metropolitan Cathedral borne on the shoulders of her male devotees, and her voyage back in a fluvial procession along the Bicol River. September 25 DALIT FESTIVAL Tangub City The festival showcasing varied activities and presentations, which includes Filipino rituals, songs, dances and way of life. September 27-29 VIVA SR. SAN MIGUEL Iligan City The San Miguel Fiesta is doubtless the most colorful yearly even in Iligan every 29th of September. The people of Iligan honor their patron saint Senor San Miguel Arkangel. September 28 BALANGIGA VICTORY Balangiga, Eastern Samar Re-enactment of the Balangiga encounter between the Americans and the Filipinos in 1901. September 28 DJANGGO FESTIVAL Nassiping, Gattaran, Cagayan A centuries-old religious and cultural festival based on the life of St. Michael and the triumph of good over evil. September 29 BANIGAN-KAWAYAN FESTIVAL Basey, Samar To showcase the banig and the kawayan as truly unique to Basey. This street dance feature the beautiful products made of banig (mat) and kawayan (bamboo). |
