| 1st Sunday of January FEAST OF THREE KINGS Basco, Batanes A day of gift giving as the magi did when the Christ Child was born,; initiated province-wide by the Church and local officials. Practically all Ivatan homes are visited on this day. 1st Week up to the 3rd Sunday of January SPIRITUAL STREET DANCING Aklan The spirit of ati-atihan, an act of penance to make miracle among barren women to bear a child, heals the body of any illness beyond medical remedy, makes business prosper or simply for fun. 2nd Sunday of January DIYANDE FESTIVAL Balingasag, Misamis Oriental A town fiesta activity of street dancing and field demonstrations. Participated in by different barangays and school representations. Diyande is a native way of offering to the Sto.Nino or Infant Jesus. 3rd weekend of January KALIBO ATI-ATIHAN Kalibo, Aklan A celebration in honor of the Sto. Nino. Marked by a frenzied merriment on the streets. Revelers in colorful costumes and bodies painted black and their faces made up grotesquely, dance uninhibitedly to drumbeats. 3rd Saturday of January SINULOG SA DIPOLOG Dipolog City, Zamboanga Del Norte Colorful religious presentations in honor of Senor Sto. Nino. 3rd Saturday of January PASUNGAY San Joaquin Iloilo A festival of Bulls held on the hillsides of San Joaquin. Prized bulls fight amidst the cheering of the spectators. 3rd/4th Sunday of January PACHADA SENOR Cagayan de Oro City A religious dance celebration in honor of Sto. Nino at Xavier University, Cagayan de Oro City. 3rd Sunday of January STO. NINO FESTIVAL Tuguegarao, Cagayan A colorful religious festival featuring street dancing, mass wedding, parlor and outdoor games and cultural night, among others. 3rd Week of January SINULOG FESTIVAL Cebu CIty The feast is in honor of the Holy Image of the Sto. Nino de Cebu. Fiesta Senor as it is widely known, is the most celebrated where people converge along the route of a grand solemn procession and partake in the gaiety amidst a mardi grass parade immersed in wild colors and the constant beating of drums of the "Pit Senyor." Last Sunday of January STO. NINO FESTIVAL Malolos, Bulacan The Malolos Sto .Nino Fiesta featuring a week long exhibits, a mammoth procession more than a hundred caros of divers Sto. Nino images. Last Sunday of January CARACOL SA MAKATI Makati City It is a Spanish term for snail and refers to "the used by the people to protest them from life�fs detrimental realities". It is a combination of the three major ethnic festivals of the Philippines declared an official festival of Makati through the passage of Resolution 351. 4th Week of January LUGA-HAIT FESTIVAL Lugait, Misamis Oriental A celebration of the town fiesta highlighted by contest on the interpretation of the history and origin of the name of the town using the medium of dance and indigenous costumes. January - February PHILIPPINE BALLOON FESTIVAL Clarkfield, Pampanga This international festival brings to the Philippines Hot Air Balloons from various countries. Disembarking "en masse" from Clark Field, the huge, colorful dirigibles will make a round-about of Angeles City's environs. The activity aims to promote one of the most popular diversionary activities in the world as well as attract visitors to Pampanga and nearby towns. January - April WHALE SHARK WATCHING Misamis Oriental/ Camiguin Coasts An experience where one can encounter the largest but gentlest fish through diving, snorkeling or swimming; or plainly take pictures as they surface. January 6 HULI WHITE Vinzons, Camarines Norte A New Year's Celebration featuring different activities such as fireworks exhibition, multiple dance competition participated by senior men and women of the groups, band competition, and a dancing session. These activities are associated with different foods and delicacies, which is shouldered by the present kings. This is highlighted by the turn-over of the crown to the chosen three (3) kings for the succeeding year of celebration.
