Posted the December/Christmas pictures.  There are quite a few because we got family portraits taken at my parents.  The outside pictures are so beautiful.  I especially like the one of my parents outside with the rays of sun shining on them.  Love it.    I'm also posting the November pictures.  I made the page back in December sometime and just forgot to post it!  Silly me.

I'm finally posting the October pictures.  Halloween was fun.  Jane was a princess from Barbie and the 12 dancing princesses (of course) and Katie was an elephant.  Great costume!!!  They were really cute.  I love the picture of Jane and Mattias out trick-or-treating.  Kim and I made the Martha Stewart Mac n' cheese the other day.  If you haven't made it yet - go buy the cheese (don't even think about how much is in there) and make it.  You'll LOVE it!

We just got back from our time at Bowen Island.  What a great getaway - the island is so quiet and restful, and the cottage we stayed at was great (The Carriage house on Bowen Island - here's a link to their site.  I highly recommend it!).  Any time you have the chance, you should check out Bowen Island.  It's an easy day trip from Vancouver, or a great place to spend a few days.  I posted some pictures of our little holiday as well as some other pictures from August.

I finally got around to updating my site - I'm so lazy!!!!  I've been working this summer, so I'll blame that for my lack of motivation. There are some July pictures and I'll get the August ones up pretty soon.  I also (finally) figured out the whole digital video thing, so there's a little clip of Katie's birthday.  Things are good.  Ian's home with the girls for his summer "break" and I'm having my own break out in the land of adults.  I'm loving it!  I'm working right downtown, which I enjoy and I'm relishing the freedom and all the time I have for myself.  It's great.

I just posted my latest project - the window seat for Jane and Katie's room.  I turned out so nicely and I'm really pleased with it.  Thanks to my dad for constructing it and installing it!

Spring Break is over already??  It went by way too fast.  It started out with a wintry morning here in Vancouver.  We took a trip to Dan and Becca's to check out their new house.  It's so nice.  I can't imagine having all that space!  After a couple of days there, we all headed over to Seaside, Oregon where we spent a few days.  It was so beautiful, and just the break that our little family needed.  Click here to see the pictures.

I MISSED A WHOLE MONTH!!!!!!  What was I doing????  Nothing really - just school and kids and life I guess.  I've posted a few pictures from February - I didn't really even take many pictures!  I'm so ashamed.  I'll try to do better this month.  A little Jane quote to make you smile.  PS.  Happy birthday Becca!

I'm so impressed with the Martha Stewart Macaroni and Cheese recipe, that I had to post it right away.  I made it tonight for Jenny and Stacy, and Oh BOY...was it ever good. Now I'm not sure if I'm glad I tried it or not because now I know that I'll be making it again, and after you see the amount of cheese in it, you'll see why you wouldn't want to be making it too often!  I posted a few more January pictures too

Hello again.  I started the January photo album - I really like the picture of Dan and Becca.  They look so happy and relaxed!  I also posted a couple more recipes - Ultimate Double Chocolate Brownies and Carrot Cake.  I'm not really a cake girl, but I LOVE this carrot cake.  I made it for my bday last year, and raved about it so much that Ian made it again this year.  The recipe looks like a lot of work, but it's so worth the effort.  And it also freezes really well, so you don't have to eat the whole thing at once.

Sorry I've taken so long to update...you know how busy the holidays get I'm sure.  I finished my accounting course, and got 93% overall.  I'm so proud of myself.  Going into the course, I wasn't sure if my brain still functioned properly or not - it's been a while since I really put it to work.  I'm starting another accounting course next week, so I'm excited about that.  I turned 30 on the 18th.  It wasn't as traumatic as I thought it would be.  Ian got me a digital camcorder as a gift, so I'm slowly learning how to shoot videos.  I'm going to try to post some videos as soon as I learn how to use the software a little better.  We went to 100 Mile for a week at Christmas.  It was so relaxing at my parents - I really got a good rest, and the girls had so much fun.  Jane actually got to ride a real pony, so that was pretty amazing for her.  After we got back, Dan and Becca came and stayed for a few days.  It was really nice to have them here.  I posted a couple of new recipes - pizza dough and hot chocolate.  I made the hot chocolate and put a shot of raspberry vodka in it...yummy!

Okay, make sure you're sitting down.  I have some shocking news...
We bought a NEW CAR!!!!!  Yep, that's right.  After all these years in our Geo Metro (the little blue car that just wouldn't die), we finally bit the bullet and purchased a new set of wheels.  It was actually harder to let go of the Geo than we thought it would be.  Lots of memories.  Ian bought the car when we first started dating, and it's seen us through every major milestone in our lives - we took it on our honeymoon, brought our babies home in it etc.  Andrew has taken it off our hands, so we'll still be able to see it once in a while!  I posted December pictures.  There's a picture of the new car there.  It's really nice - one of our favourite features is the fully functioning doors.  Ah, pure luxury!  I still catch myself sitting and waiting for Ian to open the door for me sometimes :)

Dareian were here for the Vancouver vs. Colorado game last week and then stayed a few days for a visit.  It was really nice to have them here.  I also posted a baking powder biscuit recipe.  It seems it's always hard to find a really good recipe for the basic things - probably because they only get good after years of experience and experimentation - but these were really good.  I served them with lentil soup, and it was a quick and delicious meal that warmed our tummies on a chilly, grey Vancouver day.

Here's my new look for fall and winter.  I decided that the orange and green was too summery!  I haven't added anything new, 'cause I've just been working on the redo.  I've had a couple of busy weeks.  We took a trip to 100 Mile to visit our families last weekend, and my parents have been here for the last week because my dad had another heart attack!  He's doing good though, and they think they know what the problem is, so they're confident they can help him.  Also, more BIG news in the Matsuda family...Luke and Claire are expecting TWINS in May.  Congratulations!  I have some ultrasound pictures to post as soon as I get some time.

I finally updated and added more pictures to Jane and Katie's room.  All I have left to do in there is sew a cushion cover for the window seat that my dad is building and then replace the outlet and switch covers.  I've been shopping around for fabric for their duvet covers too, but I haven't found exactly what I want yet.  I'll know when I see it.  I got busy sewing tutu's for them though.  They were a big hit, and very cheap and easy to make :)  As I was looking for inspiration for their bedding, I came across the most incredible website - Posh Tots.  You should check it out.  Some of it is over the top, but most of it is beautiful.  I also added more October pictures.

Time for a little update... I'm not working at Coape Staffing anymore, so I've been adjusting to being at home again.  I really miss being out and about and busy with my own thing, so it's hard for me to be home sometimes.  I've got a big list of projects to do around the house though, so I'm keeping busy.  I've been finishing up Jane and Katie's room.  I painted the wainscoting (finally) and the trim, and it looks so pretty.  Right now, I'm working on a design to paint on Katie's dresser and a design for the window seat/reading area for them.  I can't wait to put it all together and be done with at least one room in our house.  The next room to tackle is our room.  I've already selected a paint color, but I'm going to control myself and not start on it until I've finished the girl's room.  I've also started an accounting course at BCIT.  I really enjoy it!  I've always wanted to do something in accounting and/or business, so I decided to take a course to see if it really was something that I would be interested in pursuing.  I posted October pictures as well as a Cranberry Lemon Loaf recipe.  Enjoy!

I added more September pictures.  It was Jane's birthday yesterday, so HAPPY B-DAY JANE-JANE!  There's a new recipe (bubble cake) that came to me from my mom - I haven't tried it yet, but it looks delicious.  I think I may try to make it tomorrow.  And here are some cleaning tips that came from my dear old dad:
    
     Hair Spray and soap removes Ink and Lipstick
     Toothpaste - shoe scuff marks
     Hair Spray on Line - Permanent Ink Marker
     Amonia - Grass stain
     Vinegar (White) - Cleaning the faucet
     Table Salt - Silver Tarnish
     Water Softener in Foil Pie Plate - Silver Tarnish
     Vinegar or Cream of Tartar - Cream

I posted September pictures - we took my family from the prairies to Whytecliff and Lighthouse parks out by Horse Shoe Bay.  It was such a nice day and wonderful scenery.  I forgot how beautiful it is out there - it was good for the soul.  My uncle Dave got to swim in the ocean (brave guy!!) for the first time in his life.  Also, Kim FINALLY had her baby.  A little boy name Zachary Darryl.  I got to meet him last Friday and it was such a pleasure to hold such a sweet tiny thing again!

It finally came!  The wedding was a smashing success.  Brenda was beautiful, the weather cooperated, and we got together with all the people we love to celebrate another happy occasion.  Of course, there are tons of pictures.  I've combined the photographic talents of my Uncle Dave, Danny and myself.  Take a look!  There are a few excellent shots.  Congratulations you two!

Well, this weekend was the big stag party for Brenda.  Becca and Brenda came to Coquitlam in the morning and we went for some pampering at the spa, then we met everyone at my place and headed out to the beach.  We relaxed and swam and chatted, then came back to our place to eat dinner (lasagna - brenda's favorite!)  After dinner we got all pretty (wearing the tank tops I made for everyone), jumped in our limo and took off for downtown for a night of dancing at the Blarney Stone.  It was a perfect night.  Good food, good company and good fun!

There's also a new recipe (oatmeal chocolate chip cookies) and a quote.

I deleted the family page from the "stuff" section, and replaced it with individual mini bios of my family.  It was fun to think of interesting or unique things about every one.  I'll work on friends and extended family in the near future.  I also added more pictures to August photos.  We had a nice bridal shower for Brenda yesterday.  There's a new video - Jane in her dancing/twirling skirt singing U2.

The August photo album has been started and posted.  I'll add more pictures as the month goes on.  More of the usual (Jane and Katie) PLUS a stunning self portrait of myself with my new glasses.  I finally decided to replace the pair I got in grade 9.  I'm almost sad to get rid of them, because they'll probably be back in style in a couple more years.

There are two new recipes: toffee chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches and berry cheesy spinach salad.

I've decided to turn this page into more of a journal type page.  I'm having trouble keeping in touch with everyone these days, so at least you'll kind of know what's going on with me. 

Katie turned 1 on Monday.  I've posted some pictures of her birthday party on the photos page.  she seemed to know that it was her special day and that all those wonderful toys were hers and NOT Jane's!  the prize for the best present goes to my dad who got her a stuffed my little pony.  Bean hasn't stopped kissing and hugging it since she got it.  I made her blueberry pie instead of cake because she's such a fruit lover.  I've posted the vanilla custard recipe that Ian's mom gave to me.  It's so delicious.

I also posted July photos - there are some nice pictures of the fireworks (Ian and I had a rare evening out while auntie Georgia hung out with Jane and Katie and watched Yellow Submarine).
