herb onion bread

i tried this on a whim
and it was really good. the best part is that there is no
kneading!
INGREDIENTS

flour |
|
3 1/4 cup |
|
|
yeast |
|
2 pkgs |
|
|
sugar |
|
2 tbsp |
|
|
salt |
|
1
tsp |
|
|
sage |
|
1/2 tsp |
|
|
rosemary |
|
1/2 tsp,
crushed |
|
|
thyme |
|
1/4 tsp ground |
|
|
butter |
|
1/4 cup |
|
|
onion |
|
1 cup, chopped |
|
|
warm water |
|
1 1/4 cup |
|
|
egg |
|
1 |
|
METHOD
-
in large mixer bowl
combine 1 1/2 cups flour, yeast, salt, sage, rosemary and thyme
-
sauté onion in
butter until golden brown. add to flour mixture
-
add water and eggs
-
blend at low speed
until moistened
-
beat 3 minutes at
medium
-
by hand gradually
stir in remaining flour to make stiff batter
-
spoon into greased
2 quart casserole
-
cover and let rise
in warm place, about 1 hour
-
bake at 375 degrees
for 35 to 40 minutes
