herb onion bread

i tried this on a whim and it was really good. the best part is that there is no kneading!
INGREDIENTS
| flour | 3 1/4 cup | ||
| yeast | 2 pkgs | ||
| sugar | 2 tbsp | ||
| salt | 1 tsp | ||
| sage | 1/2 tsp | ||
| rosemary | 1/2 tsp, crushed | ||
| thyme | 1/4 tsp ground | ||
| butter | 1/4 cup | ||
| onion | 1 cup, chopped | ||
| warm water | 1 1/4 cup | ||
| egg | 1 |
METHOD
in large mixer bowl combine 1 1/2 cups flour, yeast, salt, sage, rosemary and thyme
sauté onion in butter until golden brown. add to flour mixture
add water and eggs
blend at low speed until moistened
beat 3 minutes at medium
by hand gradually stir in remaining flour to make stiff batter
spoon into greased 2 quart casserole
cover and let rise in warm place, about 1 hour
bake at 375 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes
NOTES
next time I make this, I'm going to sauté a couple cloves of garlic along with the onions. I think it would make this a super delicious, easy bread!
