Here is the deck with 5 coats of clear coat. I am very happy with how this came out, although the finish isn't as glossy as most builders would require (The manufacture states you can buff to a high gloss). I used System Three Gloss Clear. This product was easy to use, I thinned the product 10% with water and added their crosslinker to it. I applied a generous coat every hour and 10 minutes or so. I really liked this product because there is absolutely no odor with it. After using the interlux products for the bottom and dealing with the terrible odors from that, the System Three was a very welcome product. I also found System Three's quick fair product that I have been thoroughly impressed with. For those of you that have sanded thickened epoxy for hours, this stuff is the best invention since sliced bread - litteraly. Applies much like a bondo and ready to machine sand in 4 hours, doesn't clog the sandpaper and is very easy to work with. |
