William has not been successfully and definitely linked with any of the numerous GALLAHERs (and GALLAGHERs) in western Pennsylvania. However, due to his prolonged proximity to Hiram GALLAHER in Washington and Green townships, it is believed that they are brothers and he would therefore be the son of John GALLAHER (who is reputed to have come from Ireland) and his wife, Mary.
