Jeanne was also known as Jeanne WIBAU or Gian WIBOO and was probably a member of the WIBAU or WIBAUT family which was prominent in Mannheim, Palatine, Germany. She probably was married in France but had to move to the Palatinate in Germany to escape persecution as Huguenots. In April 1675 Jeanne and her husband departed from Amsterdam and sailed to Esopus, Ulster Co., NY via London, Boston, and New York, arriving in July. Jeanne spent the rest of her life in Ulster Co., NY and probably died before 1688 as she was not mentioned in her husband's will at that time.
