Bandai announced that they will release their latest simulation game SD Gundam G Generation-F for Playstation in Japan on August 3rd.  Over 1000 characters will be shown from 38 anime and comic series. Over 100 stages will be in the game, and it will support the WonderWave, for exchanging data with the WonderSwan version of the robot battle simulation game SD Gundam G-Generation Gather Beat, which is scheduled to release on July 13.

Here is Sony's new compact model of Playstation, which is scheduled to release this fall in the US, for $99US.
 


Konami is working on a new Playstation 2 action battle game called The 7 Blades.   The game takes place in ancient Japan, you take control of one of the 5 main characters, to fight your way into the emperor castle, during the quest you will fight against many kinds of enemies such as ninjas, samurai, assassins and so on. Each of the 5 characters will have different weapon and fighting styles.

Konami has displayed several Playstation 2 games at E3 beside Metal Gear Solid 2.  First one is a sword fighting game called Seven Blades, a 3D samurai action fighting game with a complex storyline. Another game is called Shadow of Destiny, previously known as The Day of Walpurgis, a suspense adventure game. Also in the show are Reiselied: Ephemeral Fantasy (RPG) and Zone of Enders, a 3D robot combat game from the creator of Metal Gear Solid and Tokimeki Memorial.

Hisago is planning to release Playstation Memory Card Labels for use in PC, which works similar to the PC Avery labels.  Each sheet will cost 420 yen (10 labels). The labeling template is free for download at their homepage.
 

Konami will release a new Dance Dance Revolution DX Controller in Japan, on July 27, for 9800 yen. This controller will be compatible with Playstation, Playstation 2 and Dreamcast, the new controller also contains the noise reduction mat.

Konami of Japan will release the Playstation port of Dancing Stage Featuring Dreams Come True on July 27, for 4800 yen.

Capcom has announced Dino Crisis 2 for Playstation, scheduled to release in North America in October.  This time the game will feature both indoor and outdoor stages, and this time you can take control of two characters: Regina and Daran. You can hold two weapons on your two hands, just like Code Veronica, and there will be over 10 types of dinosaurs. 

 

EA Sports is also working on the PS2 version of NBA Live 2001, the latest version of their popular basketball series. The PS2 version feature vastly improved graphics, via the new CyberScan and motion capture technologies. Other than real name NBA players, you can also create and customize your own character. NBA Live 2001 is also planned for a fall release this year.

Infogrames / Epic has announced Playstation 2 port of the hit PC shooter Unreal Tournament.  The PS2 version will have over 50 levels. Rumors indicate that this game will have network battle support, it could be done be either link cable or a PS2 modem.

Sony is working on a new Playstation 2 title called Scandal, the game is scheduled to release in Japan on June 29, for 6800 yen in DVD format, a digital anime adventure game.

Capcom announced that they will publish Game Art's Playstation 2 historical war simulation game Jian Wan's Romance of Three Kingdoms in Japan on July 27.  Game Art's second PS2 title Gun Griffon Blazes will be released in August in CD-ROM format.
 

 

Banpresto will postpone the release of their highly anticipated Konami is working on Suikoden 3 for Playstation 2, the 3rd installment of their popular PS RPG series, the game will be released sometimes in 2001.

Konami announced that Hideo Kojima's latest PS2 creation Zone of Enders will hit Europe by the end of the current fiscal year (before April 2001). (From Computer & Video Games)

Namco has released new info on their Playstation RPG Tales of Eternia, this game features brilliant 2D graphics, animation and special effects. There are a total of 6 main characters, and there exists different kinds of elemental spirits called Klemells, which are similar to the summon beasts / Guardian Force in Final Fantasy. 

 

 

Electronic Arts is working on a new Playstation 2 action racing game based on James Bond. Other than this game, EA's subsidiaries are also developing a number of new titles for PS2, including SimTheme Park from Bullfrog, Undying from Dreamworks, Pirates of Skull Cove from Westwood Studios.

Konami announced that they are porting the popular arcade rifle shooting game Silent Scope to both Playstation 2 and Dreamcast later this year.

Capcom is working on a new Rockman / Megaman sequel for Playstation called Rockman X5, a side scrolling action game with 2D background and characters, this time the each character will have a lot more animation frames, just like the characters in Breath of Fire IV.

Activision is working on a new Playstation dancing action game called The Jungle Book: Rhythm N' Groove, the first true dancing game for US Playstation, scheduled to release in November. A special dancing controller will be released along with the game, which is a carpet type controller similar to Konami's Dance Dance Revolution controller, but it has a total of 12 buttons (4 direction buttons, L1, L2, R1, R2, Circle, X, Square, Triangle).

- SCEA is working on a new Playstation 2 RPG called ICO, the game takes place in a fantastical awe-inspiring world where you must find your way through puzzle laden castles, dungeons, corridors, fields and more. There will be many puzzle solving and adventure elements in the game. ICO is scheduled to release in US this fall.
 

 

Sony Computer Entertainment has expressed interest in implementing wireless internet connect technology W-CDMA for Playstation 2, there is a possibility to release a new mobile network adapter for PS2, which enables you to connect to the internet using cellular phones or wireless LAN.

Electronic Arts has renamed their Playstation 2 third person shooter Crossfire to X-Squad, the game will be released in US as a PS2 launch title this fall.

THQ / Volition are working on a new first person shooter for Playstation 2 and PC called Red Faction, which uses a new Geomod technology, such that visual damages will be shown on the walls when you fire at them, and it may reveal hidden passage and secrets within. Volition is scheduled to release in 2001.
 

 

Mattel Interactive is working on a new RPG for Playstation 2 called Eternal Blade, which a sword and scorcery theme in the medieval time, the game length will be around 60 hours, you can use many magic spells and special attacks to battle the enemies.
