PS Zone Current News Sony has displayed a demo unit of the Playstation 2 development tool in a twin tower cabinet, the demo unit will also run DVD movies. Several playable unit of Playstation 2 are in the Tokyo Game Show, with playable demo of Gran Turismo 2000, Dark Cloud and more. Sony's PS2 RPG Dark Cloud is scheduled to release in Japan in winter 2000. Sony has confirmed that Gran Turismo 2 for Playstation will be coming out in Japan on November 25. Capcom's survival horror adventure titles attracted a lot of
audiences at Tokyo Game Show, the newly announced Playstation light gun shooting game
Biohazard Gun Survivor is on display, this game supports the GunCon. The game takes place
in the Raccoon City, unlike The House of Dead, you can control the movement of the main
character, in addition to moving the on-screen target. You can also perform a number of
other actions such as dash, spin, turn right and left. In Capcom's Playstation 2 version of OniMusha the Demon
Warrior, there will be over 1000 armored warriors in the game, all the character animation
are motion captured. The graphics are now in full 3D, and the qualities have been greatly
improved. Enix has put up 50 playable demo units of their highly
anticipated Playstation RPG Dragon Quest VII ~ Warriors from Eden at Tokyo Game
Show. DQ7's graphics are in 3D, you can zoom in and out, and rotating the screen by
using the L# and R# buttons on the controller. Square has officially announced Parasite Eve 2 for Playstation, the sequel of their highly popular cinematic RPG. Aya is again the heroine in the game, the camera angle will shift according to the movement of Aya, and this time you can use the radar to detect enemies that are hidden at various places. Parasite Eve 2 is scheduled to release in Japan in December. In PE2 Namco's booth at Tokyo Game Show has a large crowd of people lining up to see the new Playstation 2 softwares - Tekken Tag Tournament and New Ridge Racer. In New Ridge Racer, the opening demo is rendered in real time by the hardware, where Miss Reiko Nagase comes out, and then it changes into the actual game with a different view angel. Bandai is working on a new WonderSwan infrared rays communication peripheral called WonderWave, which enable the WonderSwan to communicate with the Playstation and Playstation 2. Tecmo is also planning to port their Naomi fighting game Dead
or Alive 2 to Playstation 2 sometimes in 2000. They have also confirmed that they are
developing Monster Farm 3 for Playstation. Capcom / Arika announced that they will be porting the System
12 fighting game Street Fighter EX2 Plus to Playstation this winter. Namco's new Playstation RPG Tales of Eternia is
scheduled to release in Japan in spring of 2000. A new Linear Motion Battle System
is introduced in this game, which is an enhanced battle system from the previous games,
allowing multiple characters to perform combo attacks to the enemies. The popular food
sack and Cooking System will still remain in this game. Capcom's upcoming survival horror game Bio Hazard 3 will
contains a number of PocketStation mini games, by completing the mini games, you will earn
money and additional rewards, depending on your skills, such as infinite ammo which you
can use in the actual game in the Playstation version.. Namco's new Playstation action shooting game Rescue Shot is
scheduled to release in Japan in January 2000. This game will support both GunCon
and Dual Shock, you can use either controller to shoot down the enemies while avoiding all
the traps and obstacles, such as rolling logs and falling stones. You can find a variety
of powerup items including health recovering food in each level. Konami's Playstation monster capsule and card battle game
Shin Yugioh Duel Monsters ~ The Sealed Memories is the sequel of the million selling
Gameboy card battle game Yugioh. The visual in the battle sequences are greatly
enhanced, unlike the static graphics in the GB version, the PS version will have full
animation during battles, you can summon monsters, cast magic spells and even change your
viewpoint during battles. Each character will have a new Guardian Star who will assist you
to fight. Square EA has sold over 400,000 copies of Final Fantasy VIII
