PS Zone Current News Zill, Koei’s upcoming RPG is announced
last week. This game takes place in middle aged Europe.
Zill is set in a full 3D environment and players will get the
chance to control a warrior's destiny. Zill's story engine is unique not
every single adventure will end the same. Zill is set to be released in
Japan on October 7, 1999.
Sony announced that the release date
for Gran Turismo in Japan to be on December 7 of this year. Square has pushed back the release date of
their 3D action adventure game Vagrant Story from this fall to sometimes
this winter. Konami will be releasing an append disc for
Dance Dance Revolution 2nd ReMix for Playstation on November 25, for
2800 yen. DDR 2nd ReMix Append Club Version Vol. 1 will include several
new features, including 20 new songs, the ability to communicate with
the arcade version of Beat Mania and DDR Link versions, new play modes
such as Party Mode and Event Mode. SCEI has just announced its
newest RPG endeavor, Legend of Dragoon. the
game takes place in fantasy world with sword & magic, with a
medieval theme, similar to the setting of Square's Final Fantasy I - VI.
Legend of Dragoon will span across over four CDs and is said
to have some impressive looking CG sequences. Also, all the characters
will be polygonal and the game's environment will be 3D. Legend of
Dragoon will be released this December.
Square will release
their Playstation action RPG DewPrism in Japan on October, for 5800 yen.
In this game you can play as one of the two heroes: Rue or Mint, each
will have their own separate story and unique attacks, they will come
across each other in certain chapters of the game. Ryu is a young
male with the ability to transform into beasts during battles, a
mysterious man killed his parents during a snowstorm night and he
travels to search for an ultimate herb that can revive his parents. Mint
is a young princess of Maya, who has been deprived from the throne by
her younger sister; she dashed out from her country to obtain the
Dewprism, in order to take back the throne from her sister. The game
takes place in a fantasy world where magic and miracle exists. The
characters will have detailed animation like in a cartoon; they have
different facial expressions, body movements, and natural clothing and
hair movements. Rue uses an axe type weapon called Arc Edge for attacks,
when he defeated a monster and obtained the monster coin, he will gain
the ability to transform into that particular monster. Mint uses her
iron ring for attacks, she can cast a variety of magic as she gains
levels.
Capcom announced Marvel vs Capcom EX
Edition for Playstation scheduled to release in Japan in November.
Playstation version will have a new special mode besides the EX mode.
Although you cannot swap the characters in the normal mode, but the EX
mode will enable players to swap to between the 2 characters during the
fight, provided that both two players use the exact same characters. SNK has confirmed that a new version of
Samurai Spirits will be coming to Playstation this winter, it will be a
3D fighting game, the game takes place 20 years after Samurai Spirits 2
for Hyper Neo Geo 64. Square will not be
releasing the classic RPG Chrono Trigger for Playstation in US. Sunsoft will release the Japanese version
of Take 2 Interactive's Monkey Hero on October 15, a Playstation
action adventure with over 28 stages. SCEI announced that they will unveil the
Playstation 2 at a press conference in Japan on September 13 in Tokyo
Japan, prior to the Tokyo Game Show; Sony will reveal the full specs of
the system, and details of the first Playstation 2 games. Sony will release a new PocketStation game
called Pocket Dun Pocket Sue in Japan on October 21, this will be
the first PocketStation game to be sold along with the PocketStation
(the game will be pre-recorded into the PocketStation), it is an English
learning edutainment game, for 5800 yen, including the PocketStation. Square will release the PS version of
Chrono Trigger in November, this game will include a new playable demo
of Chrono Cross with the game, featuring new scenes, revised system and
controls.
