Konami is announced a new RPG called Elder Gate.  This game will be using Global Build System where player’s decision will influence the story line, characters and conversations.  Battle System is somewhat like Square’s Final Fantasy 8 where all characters are build in polygons. 

 

SCEI’s newest 3D actionRPG Alundra 2 ~ Mysteries of Evil Evolution, is developed by Matrix (creator of Shining Force) and the story is responded by the creator of Metal Max.  There are 3 main characters in this game: Firi Hand, Aisya Shaba and Tetu. Hand is the main hero of the game, the pirate killed his mother and his father was missing when sailing, his goal is to obstruct pirate crimes. Shaba is a selfish royal princess, but with a strong sense of justice, who is searching for her missing father, the King of Vanilla. Tetu is the boss of a group of pirate. The hero is able to perform many moves during the quest, such as push, pull, grip, throw, step, slide, and combo.  You can earn special abilities by completing certain events, without having to keep promoting the experience levels. Namco announced their Playstation lineup for the last half of 1999 to early 2000, 5 games are revealed. First is the 3rd installment of their RPG series: Tales of Eternia, scheduled to release in spring of 2000, responded by the same team who created Tales of Destiny. Second is a new light gun shooting game called Rescue Shot, with cartoonish graphics like Point Blank. Third is a detective adventure game called Detective of Nainai, with digital graphics and a comical theme, responded by Yoshimoto. The next two are previously announced titles: action RPG Dragon Valor, scheduled to release in December, and 3D action adventure Pacman World 20th Anniversary, scheduled to release in November.
 

 

Arika/Capcom has released new info on their first Playstation 2 title: Street Fighter EX3 is scheduled to release in March 2000.  This is the latest work of their popular Street Fighter EX series.  A new tag team system is confirmed to be in this game, you can call in your partner anytime during the battle for team attacks, and you seem to be able to swap the characters during battles as well.

 

From Software’s first Playstation 2 title Armored Core 2 is scheduled to release in Japan in summer 2000.  

 

X-Shooter, EA Square's new action shooting game for Playstation 2, is scheduled to release at the launch of Playstation 2, more info will be available at the Tokyo Game Show.

Imagineer and the UK developer Rage are co-developing a new Playstation 2 racing game called Wild Wild Racing.  It’s scheduled to release at the PS2 launch.

Square is working on a simulation game called Chocobo Stallion for Playstation, a racing, breeding and simulation game similar to ASCII's Derby Stallion, with Chocobo replacing the horses. This game is planned for a winter release in Japan.

 

Climax will release the newly announced Playstation action racing game Runabout 2 in Japan on November 18. This game features over 13 stages, 31 car models, over 100 kinds of concealment items.

Square will release their highly anticipated RPG title Chrono Cross for Playstation in Japan this November, for 6800 yen, there will be over 40 party characters and dozens of new concepts in the game, the CG movies will be handled by the staff of FFVIII. The PS version of Chrono Trigger will also be released on November.

Ubi Soft announced that they are working on a brand new Rayman title for Playstation 2.

Rage is porting their action shooting game Expendable to Playstation.

Criterion is planning to working on the sequel of Trickstyle for Playstation 2.

Naughty Dog is working on a Playstation 2 version of their hit action game Crash Bandicoot.

Bizarre Creations has confirmed Furballs is also heading to Playstation 2.

Psygnosis is working on a new sequel to their popular racing game Wipeout for Playstation 2.

Both Silicon Dreams and Codemasters (creator of TOCA Touring Car series) have announced that they are developing game titles for Playstation 2, Codemasters currently has no plans to develop for Sega Dreamcast.

Midway is working on two new Playstation 2 titles in US, the first is a sequel of their classic action game Spy Hunter, the second is a real time strategy game called Legion, developed by 7 Studios.
