PS Zone Current News Here are the latest Famitsu game review
scores for various Playstation titles:
Koei announced that they will release their Playstation 2 launch title Kessen (Decisive Battle) in DVD-ROM format, on March 4, 2000. Sony has released a special edition of
Playstation in Japan, called the Doko De Mo Issyo Playstation
(Accompaniment Anywhere Playstation), featuring the popular PocketStation
characters Toro and Mono, from the hit breeding game Accompaniment
Anywhere, which sold over 500,000 copies in Japan. Special editions of
PocketStation are also available, with Accompaniment Anywhere preloaded
into the machines.
Namco is planning to port their arcade
puzzle game Mr. Driller to Playstation next year. In this game you need to
control the hero Mr. Driller to drill down 1000 meters in each stage, by
connecting blocks of the same color and make them disappear.
Enix announced two new Playstation music
action titles in Japan, they are Let's Sing ~ Seri-songs and Kaikan
Friends ~ Arrival of the Fallen Angles, the game play will be similar to
their hit music dancing game Bust A Move. Both titles are scheduled to
release in Japan sometimes in February 2000. Capcom of Japan has confirmed that they
are working on Dino Crisis 2 for Playstation 2. Dino Crisis 2 is
tentatively scheduled to release in Japan next fall. At the same time,
Capcom mentioned that they are currently working on 4 to 5 other new
Playstation 2 titles, including OniMusha the Demon Warriors and Street
Fighter EX3. Sunsoft is bringing their recently released Playstation RPG Kovkaoeatpo ~ Eternal Eye to North America next spring, under the name Eternal Eye.
Sims is porting their Dreamcast love
adventure game Echelon Moonlight Night to Playstation, the PS version will
be published by Tech in April 2000, it will contain additional events and
features not found in the DC version. Banpresto has confirmed that they will
release Super Robot Taisen Alpha for Playstation in Japan on February 24,
for 6800 yen. A Limited Edition of the game will release at the same day
for 9800 yen, featuring character figures, stickers, labels, postcards,
necklaces and so on. After the release of Tokimeki Memorial
2, Konami will release their long delayed dating simulation game Want
to See You ~ Your Smile in my Heart for Playstation in February 2000,
for 6800 yen. Namco has officially announced their new
Playstation God-RPG, the name is Kamurai Shinlai, scheduled to release in
Japan next year. The story takes place in a fantasy world, where there are
6 countries on the planet: Country of Earth, Fire, Light, Sky, Life and
Dark. Country of Light is a floating island high above the sky, where gods
live. Human are protected by the six King of the Gods, away from the
threats of evil monsters from the Country of darkness. A number of new
systems are introduced in the game, including the Cutting back script
system, Mind and Will System. The Mind and Will System affects the
reliability of your partners toward the hero during battle. The Cutting
Back Script System allows you to proceed the two separate stories with two
main characters (one human and one god) simultaneously, parallel to one
another, sort of like Squall and Laguna like in Final Fantasy VIII. During
the battles, you will give the whole party instructions, and each
character will fight according to the individual will. The main characters
include two human and two gods: Syuon, Kagato, Fushi, and Sayohime.
