Metro Works announced that they will be releasing a PS2 development tool package called CodeWarrior for Playstation 2: Japanese Version 1.0 for the PC platform, the development tool will run in Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95 and 98. It is no longer necessary to stick with the Linux platform if you want to develop for PS2.

Konami's upcoming card battle RPG Shin Yugioh Duel Monsters ~ The Sealed Memories, the game is scheduled to release in Japan on December 9 for 5800 yen, a Limited Edition of the game will be released on the same day, for 9800 yen. This is the sequel of the highly popular Yugioh II ~ Dark Duel Stories for Gameboy, with many new features not found in the GB versions, include twice as many battle cards, animated 3D battle sequences, CG movies. A new Guardian Star system is added to the game, once you equipped a Guardian Star, you will gain extra abilities, sort of like FFVII's GFs. You can also summon the Guardians to help you in battles. Similar to the GB version, you can battle with your friends by loading up the saved data from two memory cards, a PocketStation mode is also available for you to exchange data with your friends.


 

Taito has pushed back the release date of their train driving simulation game Densha de Go! Nagoya from December 9 to January 27, 2000.  Instead, they will release Densha de Go! Professional for Playstation on December 9, for 5800 yen, this professional edition will feature 10 train routes and over 60 types of trains, a new navigation system is introduced in the game, during the game a mini map of the current route is displayed, notifying you where the horn sign, stop line, limitation signs are in the route. You have the option to turn on and off the navigation system.

 

Capcom will release the Playstation version of Strider 2 in Japan in next February. The card battle board game Gaia Master will also release in the same month.

Arika will be releasing their first Playstation 2 fighting game EX3 Street Fighter in Japan on March 16, this game features the new tag team battle, allowing up to 4 characters to battle simultaneously.

Sony Computer Entertainment is planning sell Playstation 2 console and software directly in official Playstation website, the direct sale system will go online on March 4, simultaneously on the PS2 launch day.

SNK of America anounced that they will be bringing the latest Playstation Samurai Spirits drama + fighting game to US, under a new name Samraui Shodown: Warrirors of Rage, the game will be coming out sometimes next spring.

 

Taito has released new info on their upcoming arcade and Playstation flight simulation game Jet de Go! Let's Go By Airliner. With the help from JAL, Taito is able to reproduce realistic jet planes animation, sound, and the atmosphere of the airports. Jet de Go! is scheduled to release in February 2000.
 

 

Konami will release Hyper Olympics Winter 2000 for Playstation in Japan on January 27, for 4500 yen, the sequel of their olympic sports game, this time the game game will focus on winter olympic sports, such as skiing.

SCEA has delayed the US release of Gran Turismo 2 from December 7 to sometimes next year.

Konami announced Beat Mania Append 5th Mix for Playstation, the latest sequel to their popular music and rhythm game. It is scheduled to release in Japan on January 27, for 2800 yen. There will be around 60 songs in this append disc, including a number of songs from the Dance Dance Revolution series.

Other than the new Densha de Go titles, Taito will release another Go! game for Playstation in December, called Car de Go!, in which you take control of the steam engine trains (which is called "cars" in Japan). There will be two separate routes in this game, both of the routes take place in country sides, totally different from the city scenes in Densha de Go. The control is similar to Densha de Go!, but in addition, you have to add coals into the burner, and release steam to lower the engine temperature. This game will include a training mode and a steam engine train photo gallery.
 

Square has released new info on their role-playing adventure game Vagrant Story. The story takes place in middle age of Europe in Reamonde, the main character Ashley Riot is a special agent graduated from VKP academy, but he has been accused for murdering and became a Risk Breaker (heavy criminal).  His mission is to solve the mystery of the murder in Duke Barudoruba's mansion. Other characters include Sydney Losstarot - the suspect murderer who accused Ashley, Romeo Guildenstern - leader of the knight of Valendia, Duke Bardoroa - a retired hero of the civil war 20 years ago, Callo Merlose - a female VKP information analysis specialist. This game uses a new battle system called Target Dom, during the battles, when the enemies are inside your attack range (inside the circular frame), you can choose to attack different parts of their bodies, resulting in different level of damages and experience, you can give critical blows to opponents by hitting their weak points.

 
 

 

Square has started a new reservation campaign for Chrono Cross in Japan, those who reserved the game will receive a special Chrono Cross Clock. The game will be hitting stores on November 18.
 

 

Climax announced they are working on a new 4 players Action RPG for Playstation 2 called Symphony of Light. This epic quest takes place in countryside, scorching deserts, perilous mountain passes, dank cave networks, busy towns, and so on, there will be plenty of puzzle solving elements and battles
