"I'm waiting for the flipside of my world, oh what do we do with such a beautiful mess and I'm laying on the ground, without a sound, I'm spinning around again, AGAIN!"
It's amazing how your life can change in a split second or how so many small events can impact your decisions so quickly. I am amazed, but left with a feeling of being content and glad. Strange how that works out, isn't it?
FYC was at Pleasure Island last week and the girls and I went. Got to see Clinta and Edward, along with our other friends at Disney, Lon was even there...it was great to see him again. It started off being a really good and fun night with my friends, enjoying the atmosphere and good times, but ironically enough some hit me right before they began singing "All for you" by Sister Hazel. I turned and looked at Cali and let her know that I was done. I did not get excited to hear their version of "All For You" for the 105th time. The strange part is I immediately had flashbacks of the first time I had ever seen FYC. I was at The Social waiting with my friends watching the "opening band Fifth Year Crush" play before I-4 came on. It was my first time to The Social and they had just refinished the floors so the place ranked of a strong oder. I remember getting a headache from the strong smell and not getting the full experience of FYC's show. I do remember the first song that got my attention was their rock version of "I remember" by Madonna. From then, I was hooked. Last Wednesday, when that random thought hit me, I had obtained a headache and they began the chords for "I remember", I headed to the bathroom cause I started to not feel too good and decided that it was my last show. I had been to too many, many people have said it before and now I finally agree with them. It used to be fun and it used to be a good time, it just started to be like a chore and not something I looked forward to anymore. I'd rather go see Big 10-4 *grin* I left feeling somewhat disappointed and unhappy because I know that my absence from their shows will affect me seeing some people, including Guy and some fans that I only see at their shows, but I know that life is always changing and I am sure that I will see those people in my life somewhere down the road if fate attends it to happen and I'm fine with that.
On a much more exciting note, my friend Torrey surprised me with tickets and backstage passes to see her friends Sister Hazel and my friends Big 10-4 that Saturday! It was amazing! The show had been sold out and I wanted to see Big 10-4 SO bad because we had thought it might be the last time we saw them before they headed out to LA to record for Universal. We squeezed our way up to the second/third row and rocked out to Sasha Aaron (who was amazing and singing all the right lyrics that we needed to hear right then) and Big 10-4 who had an amazing show! We rocked out! Felt kinda bad for the Hazelnuts in front of us just waiting for the main show, but oh well...we had a great time! Dan could not stop smiling. You could hear the crowd singing there songs so loud cause we must have been distributed so evenly throughout the venue. They played all my favorites, including their rocked out version of "Smell of Familiar" which I adore and is my favorite. It was an amazing show and I was so excited that all their fans came out to support them! They are totally worth it!
Sister Hazel blew me away yet again, but this time we were so close it was even more so amazing! Jett came over and saw Torrey and smiled, he's adorable! After the show, we hung around to go backstage and chat with the bands. Big 10-4 didn't know that we had an "in" with Torrey so we didn't really mention anything about going backstage. So when Dan walked in and saw us chatting it up with Jett from Sister Hazel, his look was priceless. He immediately wanted to know how we got up there and was quick to ask the specifics. It was funny. We got to watch Jett give advice to the boys. Such a fun moment. Jimmy came in and started interrupting Jett in the funniest way "now that it's all about me....now that it's all about me..." I was trying not to laugh while Jett was being so serious. Too fun! Jett is going on the Rock Boat again and I can't wait to see them again on there! TOO much fun! They even invited Big 10-4 on the boat for January, SO want to be there, but doubt my funds will let me. Ah well, can't do everything I want to.
So I got contacts, finally. It had been something that I had never really yearned for until a couple months ago and I realized that I wanted to try them again. I had tried them when I was younger, but was forced to only get the "hard" ones and I hated them with a passion, but thought I might try the soft ones this time. Went to the fabulous Dr. Lincoln and he stuck them in my eyes. Then I had to get them out. That was the tougher part. After a few days of getting really frustrated and upset of not being able to put them in or take them out in an efficient amount of time, I finally got the hang of it and could not be happier. They do get a big blurry at times and I am still paranoid about rubbing near my eyes or getting something in them, but for the most part, they are awesome! It's amazing what *NSYNC music and a toliet seat can do to relax me for the task. Good times.
Speaking of *NSYNC, I saw Chris again the other day. And yes Tonya, it *is* that CK! We were all heading to The Social to support Julie's friend's band National Product and of course, they too, are friends with Chris. So he brought his entire clan and I got to see Gino, Danny, Kate, etc. It was fun to see them at The Social. Chris even got up and sang with the band. I was front row for it and he looked less than excited when no one cheered for him when they announced his name so I held up my drink to him and he did the same to me. So strange. I know he's not used to people not screaming for him while he steps on a stage. He's too cute! *grin* It was a fun night. Got to flirt hardcore with some random guy...that pretty much made my evening. Then headed home after a stressful goodbye to my friends, but it's done.
I will con't this soon.....
