Ho ho ho. In the spirit of Christmas I've decided to put up a rant about The Cult Of Richey. Now its time to get festive.

DECEMBER 15th

I always seem to be busy these days, but I have been sitting more exams. Reviewed the Manic Street Preachers at Wembley Arena, and also added Surbiton. No offence to anyone who lives there. But it's the perfect name for the poem.

DECEMBER 10th

Sorry. Been somewhat busy. Putting up Christmas trees. Moving Furniture. Working for a living. So... new verse! .. specifically...
Disneyworld, Untitled : 20th May 1995, Love By Any Other Name, Faithless, My Beacon.

DECEMBER 4th

We spoil you with new content! .... Here's the latest missive from our HQ : Steal This Album : the Death of the Music Industry

DECEMBER 3rd

Been a wee bit busy recently. Went to see Alabama 3 at the Astoria on Sunday night. Then went to Cardiff the next day for work. Then back to London to see Die Another Day. Then to Birmingham for work. And back. Yowsa. All that and I managed to cram sleep in ... somewhere.

DECEMBER 1st

Sheesh! December?. Bloody hell. How time flies. And the past is history. Anyway, trawling around the country for work over the past week has given me some fuel. Here's the rants... Tony Blair vs. The People : The Firefighters Strike, Attack of The Zealots,
and Stop This Madness

NOVEMBER 30th
Last night we saw a great movie. Bowling For Columbine. All about America. And how evil it is living in the land of the free, the home of the dumb.

NOVEMBER 26th

Just sat an exam. Another step on the road to putting even more letters after my name. Urgh. Added a rant about Milton Keynes. And some backroom fiddling. Anyway, what were you doing on Friday night? Didn't I see you at the Foo Fighters at Wembley Arena?

NOVEMBER 20th
Still busy, but had a flash of inspiration. Here is some more verse. Surprisingly, not about how evil my ex's are, but about man's inhumanity to his fellow men. Try to enjoy. (the active word in that is Try).

Here they are -
The Art Of Breathing, Clemency, Cruel

NOVEMBER 19th

A busy few days ahead... so we've trawled the archives and uploaded some nuggets from the days we used to write for the Suede fanclub. Swoon, to the youthful naivety of : Head Music - a retrospective, Suede live in Manchester, 1999, Suede - The Future and finally How I Learned To Love Suede.

We promise that's the last Suede stuff for ages. We're sick of them now.

NOVEMBER 17th
Yeah, we know. We haven't been on holiday. We've been busy. Seeing Suede AGAIN. Oh Well, sang Morrissey, I'll Never Learn.

NOVEMBER 10th

Added some verse into 2002. If you're really impatient and just can't wait (tsk! - patience is allegedly a virtue), heres the titles:
How Lives Change, The Man Who Has Everything, May God Be With You, Stolen Name, Orbits, Survival Of The Cruellest.

NOVEMBER 9th

Saw Michael Moore last night. Also d the Ban The Beatles following an interesting email conversation with someone. Was going to the poems, but got other things to do right now. Toodlepip! x

NOVEMBER 7th

Finally did our review of Underworld. Gonna be quiet for a while... got a busy weekend and plenty of crap verse of write. And to add to the 34,000 word novel. Fun fun fun.... here we come!

NOVEMBER 6th
We know you're out there. We know you're watching. We're not paranoid. We know that's the way it is.

Sorry it's taken so long to put this up, but I've been extraordinarily busy. So here's a review of what we did last Tuesday...FAIRPLAY : Coldplay, Noel Gallagher, Miss Dynamite, Lamb, Idlewild - London Astoria - 29 October 2002.

It's not the best review anyone's ever written, but it's good enough for me. And besides, I've been in Edinburgh this week.

NOVEMBER 3rd
We're not ignoring you, but we've been busy..seeing gigs including Underworld, the ...Fairplay charity gig with Noel Gallagher, Ms Dynamite, Coldplay, and also lots of other stuff. More updates coming when we get chance... honest

OCTOBER 28th
We love this band, and you should too. Get your ears round Power In The Blood by Alabama 3. Right. Off to bed now.
(p.s. never-to-be-published novel is at 29751 words)

OCTOBER 27th
Well, you might not have noticed this, but we now have a domain name! And here it is. www.markreed.cjb.net.

OCTOBER 26th
Hey hey boys & girls. Yesterday was one of the nicest days I think I've had in a long time. But less of that. Two years ago - near enough to the day - I saw the demolition of a towerblock. Stunning. Now, back to normal service.

OCTOBER 21st

Insomnia is not a staple diet. We've just finished and reviewed Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk. Go LOOK!

OCTOBER 19th
Sorry boys & girls, been busy, doing whatever it is we do just trying to stay alive. And throwing words at a novel type thing (23,000 words and counting).Added an appreciation of Stanley Kubrick'sEyes Wide Shut and the monthly verse , including :
I Was Made For Loving You Baby, Hallelujah, For The Unknown Woman, The Others.

OCTOBER 15th

"The Very Best Of The Stone Roses". They lie. Just another crappy christmas cash-in.

Sorry for the lack of s. We're throwing 1,000 words a night at the novel.

OCTOBER 11th
Manic Street Preachers - "Forever Delayed 1991-2002". When the best rock band in the world goes shit and cashes in its credibility for the Christmas market with bland new songs and a ill-thought out "hits" compilation. Hmm.
"I'm so happy... I shaved my head." (Cheers Kurt).

OCTOBER 8th

Added lots and lots of Links. Did plenty of behind-the-scenes fixage as well. And trimmed the logo. Yowsa.

OCTOBER 7th
Been busy. Suede's London Tour. Rockin'.

OCTOBER 5th

October5th? Already?. Thought we'd d this more often. Nonetheless, we have been busy - working, travelling, seeing Suede at the Virgin Megastore, recording with Radio 4 (of a sort), studying for a Masters, writing a new novel (14,000 words and counting), breathing, eating, sleeping and listening to the new Underworld album. Today we're seeing TWO, yes TWO gigs. Suede at the Marquee in Islington, and The Divine Comedy at Shepards Bush. Rockunfukinroll.

SEPTEMBER 29th

Sorry for the lack of news, we've been out having a life. The worldwide web is not the only thing in the world. Honestly. And to prove it this is what we did on Friday Night. Seeing everyone's favourite techno-vegan Moby At The Astoria.

SEPTEMBER 25th
Mob rule. People kicking down your doors. Violence. Murder. Scared Children. Paedogeddon... The Modern Witchunt.
Welcome to "Sarah's Law". Everybody knows that Paedophilia is evil. But evil also lurks in our homes. It lurks in mob rule. It lurks in hypocrisy. Teach by example. Or something. You're going to reap just what you sow.

What's The Time? BEDTIME!

SEPTEMBER 22nd

Think you know the guy behind this site? Try this Quiz before October 22nd, and find out. Good luck. The site is pop-up heavy (don't be scared) but FREE. Woo! Yay! Victory to the B3ta Bear!

SEPTEMBER 21st

Boy, we're spoiling you now! When will the avalanche ever stop? Well... here's some new verse for you, this months crop. One is completely ripped off a well known singer with a lizard-shaped* face. No prizes for guessing which one! Bring on the verse!...
Kamikaze, Free Spirit, Unhappy Families, Armageddon, Take Me Home

(* thanks for telling me what she resembled. Imagine me thinking she was rhombus shaped! DOH!)

SEPTEMBER 20th

Oh boy have we been busy. A before-dawn start for a work trip to Leeds yesterday resulted in SIX new things for you to gawp at, all typed in an advanced state of exhausted commuter insomnia. Enjoy....
Man Is A Bad Animal, Suicide Booths.. The New Way To Die!, Beyond Lust : The Platonic Friendship, The Power Of Love,
and also reviews of Louise Wener's debut novel..Goodnight Steve McQueen and REM's Rem:IX album.

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me On TV!. Attention seeking twits covered in insects. Long overdue and revolting at the same time.

SEPTEMBER 9th

Oh joy! Work tomorrow! Snide glances from bitter old crones sat next to you. People talking about you when you're not sat there. And people who don't do anything and try to harrass and bully you simply because you do do some work.
Office Politics or How I Learned To Stop Working And Be A Nosy Meddling Twat.

SEPTEMBER 8th
A War Against The Will Of The People. Explains how I feel about Bush's holy war against anyone who doesn't agree with him.

SEPTEMBER 4th
George And Tony... A Love Story... What really happens when two world leaders make late night phone calls to each other?

SEPTEMBER 3rd
Suede at the Scala review added. What's the name of their biggest hit? Trash.

SEPTEMBER 1st
Not a huge amount of news. But I've found that Notting Hill isn't quite as awful as the very presence of Hugh Grant might lead you to believe. And that Greenwich is quite a nice place. Anyway, to dispel that air of tranquility,
BAN THE BEATLES!.

AUGUST 30th
New verse!
Flurox 101, My Prayer, Numbers, State Of Denial.

p.s. just a quick word - if you think that these poems are about you, they almost definitely AREN'T. So put your ego back in a box under the bed where it belongs. Ta!

AUGUST 27th
We've been busy the past week or so... and here's the proof - firstly a review of last's nights show by Guns'N'Roses at Londons Docklands Arena. And we also found an old review of Oasis at The Cardiff International Arena from 1997.

And a review of Rollins Band live epic... The Only Way To Know For Sure

... AUGUST 13th
What did you do at the weekend? We went to see what the creators of the X-Files call 'the scariest place on earth'...home to
The Mackenzie Poltergeist. Be warned though. It is a true story, and names have not been changed to protect the innocent.

AUGUST 6TH
Sorry for the minor interruption. From now on the guestbook is closed, primarily as someone started posting abuse. You know who you are. And we're not impressed.

AUGUST 5TH
Added quite a bit of my most recent verse - several new and exciting titles, nothing too fancy, and somewhat personal. The most recent poems added are :
A Great Man, Asunder, Disconnect, Don't Be Scared, The Motive, Three Summers, Weak, Without Love By My Side
P.s. Tell your friends to come and visit. But don't try to call us names. You might not be celeverer enough to realis it, but you're smarter than that.

AUGUST 4TH
Added a review of Bill Drummond's The Man here

JULY 28TH
Review of the other Jubilee at Crystal Palace ...Never Mind The Sex Pistols, They Were Bollocks

JULY 24TH
The Deification of The Dumb... or Why Big Brother Is Making Us Stupid added here in the Rants section. Over 2,500 words on why stupid people on television is NOT a good thing.

JULY 22ND
Performed an enormous amount of boring work and updating. Added a review of last months Fleadh here. Fixed all the pictures, from "M" to "Z" so you can gawk at hundreds of pictures - you can find them in every review, every article, every rant. So you're not faced with vast portions of imposing text. It's easy on the eye. And the wallet. We accept cash, cheques and consumer goods, but not Paypal.

JULY 19TH
Review of Suede at London's Camden Electric Ballroom here. Hope you like it. Pictures to be added over the weekend.

JULY 16TH
Adding pictures all the way through articles on the site like a stick of rock. Most Articles up to "M" have lovely little stick drawings for you to look at. We've nicked them off the net - if you see one of yours mail us and we'll give you a credit. For gig reviews, we've tried to track down photos from the show in question, so you can view a little piece of history on your screen. Like the song, We Care A Lot. In the meantime though, it's late, and it's time for sleep.

JULY 11TH

Added a review of the Pet Shop Boys in Brighton here. Though today we should've been in Court (refer to JULY 4TH).

JULY 10TH
Won't be too many s for the time being. I'm getting divorced, which is not my idea. I won't be told what to think or to feel. I'm entitled to my opinion.
Almost forgot. An Oasis album review here. We don't like it.

JULY 5TH
Thanks for the support. The Mark Support Squad has been mobilised and things will improve.

BAD NEWS - JULY 4th

We're not too happy today. Yesterday was my 29th Birthday. It started with a pointless row that I completely failed to initiate. I also sat an exam. On my birthday. Yippee.
Today I had a bit of a shock when I came back from work. She had gone. The only thing that can prove I was ever married are two birthday cards, a ring, and some unpaid bills.

And some things which aren't hers managed to leave the house. Apparently the intention was to use these as part payment for some of the things she'll inevitably leave behind. There's also a Court Summons.
My god, what a mess.

JUNE 30TH
Added a bit of well-placed vitriol about patriotism in the Rants section. It's been at least a week since England was thrown out of the World Cup because they weren't as good as whoever they were playing. And people still have crappy plastic flags on their cars. Time to take the flags down. Now. And I've got an exam tomorrow. What better way to revise than build a webpage?

p.s. I passed the exam.

JUNE 24TH

Added a rant about Old People in the Rants section. Nobody will ever read it, but I don't care. Made me feel better. Horrendously non-PC. But then again, you've never felt frustration at an old person for being a spacker in your life have you? Lucky lucky person.

JUNE 23RD
Added several short creative pieces, an unfinished novel, and did some more tinkering. And that's it. We're officially fed up with this now. Off to watch America's finest export... The Simpsons...

JUNE 22ND
Added an extra links page with around 90 thrilling destinations for you on the web. Also added an "end" page, a browser guide, and did some more tinkering. Between watching the entire Omen Trilogy on DVD.

JUNE 21ST
Did a bit of back room tinkering, fixed some HTML, some broken links, some spelling mistakes, some formatting. Some people don't like the text being (mostly) centered. But you don't know how shit it looks otherwise. We do. And we're doing this for your own good. Hopefully, you won't even have noticed we were there. We're also working on adding a load of links. That'll rock..

18TH JUNE
Finally finally finished everything. Today checked almost all the links, tidied up the HTML, changed some pictures, sorted all the links out so they all point in the right places, added a couple of missing pages, some random quotes, and generally polished the whole site so it looks all shiny and new. PS: If you can name the source of ALL the quotes we'll find you a prize. Aren't we lovely?

17TH JUNE
Well it's 1.07 am and we've got work tomorrow. But today we added 300 pages, so everything is here, it's just a matter of finding it. This evening we'll tidy up some links and launch the good ship VanityWebSite... Yowsa it's late. Gotta go to bed...

15TH JUNE
Added a multitude of parts today. In the Poems section we added a total of 96 pages - mostly poems from 1997-99 - and a piece to the Writings section. It takes an age, and is somewhat boring to do, but we now only have a small amount of verse from 1991-1996 to upload, which we'll be doing tommorow. Tonight though, we're going to watch Spiderman.

GENERAL:

Sorry there isnt much news here today. Or ever in fact. Were hard at work at a major site and as soon as its finished well tell you. Well be adding about 300-400 pages and doing a major site redesign. And Mark is finally learning HTML himself and how to do things.

Thats inbetween doing a day job, watching a lot of films, listening to a lot of records, playing a lot of Grand Theft Auto 3, and surfing the Net. HTML-ing 3000 or so documents kinda pales in comparison as well, boring.

OLD NEWS... OLD LOGO!

"my god, its full of stars..."
