THE "VERY BEST" OF THE STONE ROSES

It's the winter of a thousand compilations. Stand up Manics. U2. Nirvana. The Stone Roses.

When inspiration dries up, when talent disappears, and there's easy quick money to be made. Throw together some of your old records, jumble them around in a new order, slap on some old photos that have been tweaked in Photoshop, and bingo!

Your very own new "Stone Roses" album.

Be appraised in a new artistic light. Be heralded as geniuses. Be ignored by people with more sense than money.

Come on. Whose actually going to buy this rip off bit of plastic? We've already had four compilation albums, which from a band that only made two albums in their career is rich. We're being exploited by the multinational corporations. Music is just the same as baked beans. Anything that brings in the money and boosts those all-important pre-Christmas profits.

I don't care about this record. Nobody should. Nobody should feel the need to go and buy a CD of songs they already own - there's always a brilliant song you haven't yet heard. Go out and buy that instead.
