May God Be With You.
Wherever you are
You’re always too close
no matter how far
too near to my secrets
too near to my trust
too near to the present day -
a dim reminder of us

May God Be With You
it’s the only light you’ll see
the only grace and virtue you’ll ever know
certainly, the only beauty
may he have mercy
the kindness you lack
because you are a blip in history
and I’m never looking back
