Defense Breaking
Protoss has the best expert defense breaking strategies. Obviously, if it breaks expert defenses, it will break newbie defenses too. Web will be the most widely used defense breaker. About 12 cosairs will get you through anything. To use the webs, just aim at the defensive structures and move in goons. Halt them so they will just kill any structures in sight. If units begin to attack your goons, web them too.
Vs Newbie Defense - Against a newbie terran defense, web the bunkers and tanks and then just halt with the goons so you can destroy the supply depots without getting killed. Then kill the bunkers in front. After that, just run in the rest of your units. This is the same with zerg only it is even easier. Against protoss you can just use goons to kill cannons. You don't need the web but it will ensure the survival of many more of your units.
Vs Expert Defense - Against terran, web as many tanks and marines as you can. The defender will unsiege the tanks. Quickly run in with all your units before they can do anything. Storm anything you can. If there are too many enemies, put some of the stuff into stasis.
Against the super protoss defense, stasis is a necessity. Stasis the cosairs and arbiters first and then storm everything you can. Try to get rid of their observers by killing them or using stasis so your arbiters can cloak you units. Maelstrom is wonderful against masses of units with abilities.
Against zerg, try not to use web if you don't have to. A lurker + swarm defense is extremely hard to penetrate. You will need to storm lurkers to get in safely. Goons won't do much because of swarm and lurkers can easily kill your zealots and dts. If all else fails, Just web lurkers, and then find clear openings to fire from. Kill buildings from within the swarm. Note with zerg having the worst detection, you can kill off all the overlords and spores if there are any, and run in your dts. Of course, you make sure you have other units like zealots and goons. |
