| MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Hello again, Pine Oaks residents! Another month, another edition of the newsletter. We have a lot to talk about this month, so lets get to it! First, dont forget the neighborhoods new motto, Pine Oaks Just Minutes from Three Different Malls! We at the Pine Oaks Community Board are doing our very best to make sure that everyone hears about Pine Oaks. Weve had some lively discussions and some interesting ideas were presented. Im still unsure about the feasibility of those banner ads they attach to the back of airplanes, but who knows? If you have any ideas to spread the name of Pine Oaks and/or our motto, write us at [email protected]. Wed be happy to hear from you! Speaking of unfeasible ideas, the Community Board has decided to drastically change the nature of our gazebo. Rather than a nice, orderly gazebo for future generations for appreciate and fondle, the board voted to build the worlds tallest gazebo. Id like to take this opportunity to restate my opposition to the move, because it will cost the neighborhood more time and more resources where they could be used elsewhere, such as giving Pine Oaks Commons a fresh coat of paint. While Im not opposed to grand projects like this per se, I do wish that the Board had listened to me, who was elected as your representative as Board President. Still and all, October is shaping up to be an exciting month. We have Homecoming over a the high school, Halloween is coming up, and as always, Pine Oaks is just minutes from three different malls. Enjoy! Barbara Del Roca |
