AUGUST 2007
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Hello Pine Oaks residents!

Im so excited, because its FOUNDERS DAY MONTH!  If I knew how to take that phrase, turn it into a banner, attach it to an airplane, fly that banner over a beach, say Nags Head or North Myrtle, then take it down, highlight it, put some flashing lights around it and make an alarm go off, I would.  But instead, Ill just do what I did up there.

Im very excited to be the Founders Day Committee chairperson for the second day in a row, and honored to decide to do that.  As I said in the last newsletter, we will be foregoing the concert and parade this year.  The dinner will happen, and once again Im very pleased that the French Bread Connection was willing to cater the event.  Its the first Saturday of the month, August 4, at 6:30 p.m.  Dont miss it!

I also have some news regarding the community pool.  My sources tell me that the individual pieces of bacon are almost completely out of pool, so work can begin soon on flushing out the drainage system and repairing any ancillary damage.

Finally, I have one correction.  Last month, I said that it takes 27 minutes to West Stimmich, in good traffic (of course, no traffic is good traffic, right?).  According to John Vermillion, you can shave off (his words) a few minutes by taking Gradshaw down to Andella Road, then getting on the highway there.  So my apologies!

Happy Founders Day Month!
