FEBRUARY 2007
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Hello there my fellow residents!

Things sure are exciting, arent they?  By things, Im referring of course to life in Pine Oaks.  When you elected me your Neighborhood Board President, you voted for a new direction for this neighborhood, for a greater community spirit, and a lifestyle of enhanced living.  But what does that mean for you, the Pine Oaks resident?  Well Im glad I asked that question on your behalf!  In the interest of furthering the communitys image within the broader area conversation, I have decided that Pine Oaks needs a motto.  Not just to engender community pride, but to let potential future residents and visitors know that Pine Oaks is where it is.  Alexandria has the Fun Side of the Potomac, and Reston has Not Just a Poorly-Planned Community Any More, but now its our turn. Furthermore, the new Pine Oaks motto will be decided byyou!  Yes, you, and also me.  All of us!  Together.  As a community.  During last months board meeting, the board and I came up with some suggested mottos that I think youll find enticing.  Is enticing the word Im looking for?  It might be alluring.  All this month you can vote on your choice for the new Pine Oaks motto by writing it down, putting it in an envelope and sticking it in my mail slot, or by painting it on your door or rooftop.  Now thats what I call community spirit!  The neighborhood board and I will convene a special meeting at the end of the month to tally your votes, and the choice will be announced in this newsletter next month.  So watch for it!

Oh, and I almost forgot!  Last month we elected a new Neighborhood Board.  Congratulations to the following residents:

WELCOME WAGON

Theres no Welcome Wagon this month, since were still buzzing about our new residents, the Jeffs (and because no one moved to Pine Oaks last month).  So Ill just take this opportunity to ask those of you reading this to recommend Pine Oaks to your friends!  Lets all try to make our neighborhood really special.  Even if there arent any available houses, it will make Pine Oaks seem exclusive!

Andrea Stillman
Welcome Wagon President.
