MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Ahoy there Pine Oaks!

No, it's not "the pirate life for me, " but there is exciting news afoot.  We now have an OurSpace page!  Im not totally sure what that entails, but town webmaster Fred Muldoon informs me its a way to connect with other people and communities on the internet, and help spread the word about Pine Oaks.  Technology these days!  Why, just the other day I saw a young man who looked like he was talking to himself.  At first I thought he was mentally disturbed, and I tried to find the nearest police officer, but it turns out he was just on his cell phone!

Things arent all fun and nonsense, though.  I must report that there appears to be some sort of mix-up with our town motto, Pine Oaksand you!  I mailed our application to the U.S. Bureau of Mottoes and Catchphrases as required by law, but Ron West, the account manager there, claims they havent received it.  Im not exactly sure how they could have lost our forms, but rest assured, this will be resolved.

And now, on with the newsletter!

Neighborhood Watch Safety Tip

By Tony Daniels

Hello Pine Oaks, I offer my well-wishes!

If I sound happy, well, its because I am.  Its certainly been an exciting month for me, and it looks like the fun will continue.  My first show on TV-74 The Warl, went off without a hitch.  The only hitch was that we didnt have quite enough callers, but thankfully the entire cast and crew of Safety Watch pulled through with aplomb.  Luckily we had experienced fun-provisors The Gutbusters, who were able to extend their hilarious and thought-provoking skit on why you shouldnt swallow paint to make up the time.  Someone call Patch Adams, because my sides are in stitches!  Although I guess if theyre already in stitches then I wouldnt need a doctor.  So maybe my sides are in need of stitches.  But that doesnt sound right either.  I want to thank everyone who helped make the beginning of Safety Watch such a great experience, and I look forward to working to make it the best safety-related 13 minutes of programming that The Warl has to offer.

But dont worry.  Im not going to go all Hollywood on you.  Im just as committed to the safety in our neighborhood as I am county-wide.  Thats why Im happy to be participating in the Safety Days festival thats occurring May 13-19 over in Billiston.  Ill have a booth set up every day of the festival, and Ill be giving periodic demostrations to go with some safe hand-em-outs as well, including my newest pamphlet, If There Ever Was a Time and Place for Safety, Its Everywhere, Constantly, Part 1: Why the Hell Arent You Being Safe Right Now?  Its a no-nonsense look at the need for constant vigilance, including a fun games section for kids.  Be sure to pick one up at my Safety Days booth, or come by my house anytime.  Just be sure you knock three times and state your intentions in a loud, clear voice.

Happy safe-ing!
WELCOME WAGON

First of all I'd like to apologize to residents of North Gardenton for the comments I made last month.  I certainly didn't mean to denigrate your neighborhood, and I'm sure it must be lovely to live in between a strip mall and an overpass.

Secondly, I'd like to welcome newest Pine Oaks resident Phillip Morgan.  Phillip comes to us from Biloxi, Mississippi, and will be working for the Amerca's Present Foundation, which he informs me doesn't have to do with presents at all.

Welcome!,
