Some distortion (mostly the bass) is the only thing that prevents the

unique document. - "I
got (this) from Mike Watt: The complete tape of the only
Reactionaries recording, this is the 1979 band
just pre-Minutemen, with a different lead singer. One or two songs are
heard on Politics of Time but nobody's heard the whole thing
before to my
knowledge. A decent room recording from George Hurley's garage." Good

"This is a superior quality audience recording, particularly for
the Replacements. I've collected their shows for years and could never
find a tape that sounds as good as this one. I understand that there
is a soundboard in circulation, but I have not heard it. The show is
in fairly wide circulation, but...I got my copy from the taper. I would
give this an A- because it is not flawless. The levels are way too high
on the first song, and songs 2-9 are slightly infererior in quality compared
the the remaining portion. Also, I cut a few minutes in order to fit
the show on a single CD. As for the actual show, it receives an endorsement
from Westerberg himself. My brother spoke to him before another show
a few days after this. In conversation, Westerberg asked my brother where
he was from, and my brother said he was from New Jersey and that he had
seen the NYC show the previous weekend. Paul said, “New Jersey?
Did you see the Maxwell’s show too? That was a great show.” The
band plays it straight with no goofing around and very few covers." - Audience

The Warner Bros. Album - "Mastered
straight from a cassette given to a person by The Residents years ago.
Tape hiss is present, but forgivable
as this is an excellent copy of this archaic recording! Of course,
the band was not called "The Residents" when this
album was recorded, and only adopted the name from the address written
on the envelope when the tape was returned from Warner Brothers Records.
I'm sure you all know the folklore. The song titles are at least 95%
correct; from what I understand, the above titles are what is actually
written on the back of the WBA tape box. They're certainly more correct
than the mp3 versions floating around out there. It should be noted that
there are 36 distinct titles, although the "Cryptic Guide" lists
38 tracks. ("Stuffed Genital" seems to be a joke from
the original back-cover-art) Still, there are some discrepancies... "Concerto
In R Flat Minor" seems to be divided into three sections. There
is no title for Track 32, so it may in fact be connected to the following
or preceeding track. I also wonder about tracks 37 and 38, and if they
are not part of the same song...? Nonetheless--- while the tracks names
may cause some dispute, all the original audio is present. Track divisions
are often marked by rough cuts and edits--- but this is exactly how the
original album sounds. When you burn it to CD, make sure there is no
space between tracks."- Source: Master Tapes

Baby Sex- "This
is the real deal, folks! Mastered straight from a cassette given to a
person by The Residents years ago. Tape hiss is present, but forgivable
as this is the best copy of this archaic recording that has yet to surface!
Of note is that while certain tracks have been released on compilations,
these are the original, unedited versions. For example, a version of "King
Kong" was issued, yet they removed an instrument from the mix
(a harmonica?). A snippet of "Prunen" was issued,
but this is the full-length version. "Fourth Crucifixion" has
only been issued as a live version, this is the studio version. Anyway."- Source:
