The Great Lost Kinks Album - An aptly
titled collection; out of print for many years, there are even some Kinks
cultists who have never been able to hear this ragtag but worthy collection
of late-'60s and early-'70s outtakes and rarities. Most of these were
recorded around the same time as the 1968 LP Village Green Preservation
Society; these low-key, wry, bouncy tunes would have fit in well with
that record. Also includes 12 cuts from brother Dave's first aborted solo
album - Essential!

Live at Club Hey
- An astonishing and exceedingly rare live document from these amazing
Swiss ladies (contemporaries of, and standing eye to eye with The Raincoats
and The Slits). This is a bit of a tough listen, but really quite decent
when all and all are considered. At about 33 minutes it is short,
but very sweet! - Source:

Death To The Howdy-Doody Brigade - This
OOP album was never released on its own, only as a limited edition second
disc coupled with initial release of the Character Assassination album.
Contains the undubbed master versions of all songs but one (If I
Had A Ticket) from Character Assassination and one new
song, Number
Ten (12).
Number Ten is essentially an acoustic re-write of Untitled by
The Saints (from their Eternally Yours album) - 50:15 minutes
- Great stuff!

Setting Son - Compilation of recordings
mostly from his bedroom at his parent's home near the end. "It’s
an excellent recording, lots of presence, crisp and clean. Exception:
The extra tracks are raw demos, and sound exactly like they should…two
recordings that may be the Rosetta stones of two of the most famous underground
rock & roll songs ever written – the chilling “30 Seconds
Over Tokyo” and the prototypically ironic “Never Gonna Kill
Myself Again.” The songs are being played for Pete by one of his
co-writers (Richard Clark ????) “30 Seconds” will raise the
hair on your arms… “Kill Myself” will finish you off."

Complete Set - "There was alot of
dialogue between songs that was originally at the beginnign of each track,
forcing you to wait 1 or 2 minutes before actually hearing any music.
It has been retracked so that it occurs at the end of the previous track.
Silence was also removed from the beginning and end of the set (as well
as about a minute of crowd noise after the final track), and fades were
added." - The sound on the first two tracks favors Kathleen's vocals,
but this is rectified thereafter. - Source: SS

Complete Set - "Palomar opened.
Cool little venue, the Abbey. Pretty good selection of beer and drinks,
good food. Holds ~500 with an open floor and a balcony that runs around
both sides and the back. Balcony isn't all that great for listening,
but if you want to sit down it's nice. Oh, and good service in the balcony
from the roving servers! Oddest thing about the venue: they have a bathroom
attendant! No kidding, very strange. Sat dead center in the balcony,
which for reference is a terrible place to listen to the show, but a
good place to record if the Abbey is jam-packed full. Terrible place
to listen because sitting up there you're in a major bass trap, seated-head
about even with the bottom of the massive concrete cross-beams and an
open space above and behind you that goes up to the full ceiling height.
Ran the mics at the base of the balcony to get away from the bass trap,
and also extended them out horizontally 6' over the crowd to get a bit
closer to the sound source. All in all, recordings turned out pretty
well, I think." - To seamlessly join the two discs, simply remove
