Highway 61 Revisited Again - Recorded from a rejected alternate acetate, there are a few inevitable pops and crackles. Less forgivable is a ground problem with the turntable used for recording. This causes an intermittent buzz. Don't let these minor distractions deter you from this great CD, however - Fantastic (acetate) sound quality.

When compared to the Sydney show, this performance is more laid back. This recording has a higher analogue tape white noise floor level, but the windscreen is effective at this show, and there are few mic pops." - Available in FLAC or Audio WAV

Rolling Thunder Revue 1 - Complete Show - Dylantree Version from third generation tapes. "The sound varies from very good to excellent. The beginning of the show is a little bit muffled but is still very listenable. The taper seems to have flipped tapes about every 30 minutes which adds to a bit of inconsistency of the quality but nothing major. The Dylan parts of this show are on the Boot CD Flaggin' Down the Double EE'S. I've never heard the boot CD but have heard two songs from it as filler on Cowboy Angel Blues and this CDR has better sound than that. This is a great 75 RTR show that is highlighted by three brilliant acoustic numbers by Dylan and a wonderful set by Gordon Lightfoot!" - Bob Meyer

Rolling Thunder Revue 2 - Complete Show - Dylantree Version from third generation tapes. "This is one of the best RTR shows I've heard. A shame the tape wasn't a bit better in quality. The majority of the tape was plagued with tape hiss and enormous bass overload that was sometimes louder than the music itself. After painstaking attempts at brining out the music I think the final product is very listenable and enjoyable. Dylan is in prime form in one of the longest shows on the tour (Dylan proclaims "you guys have been sittin' there for 5 hours, that must be some kind of record"). Throw in an amazing set by Ronnie Hawkins, and Gordon Lightfoot and you got yourself a great set! I might add that this show includes the greatest version of Oh Sister I've ever heard!" - Bob Meyer

Border Beneath the Sun - Complete Show - "An incredible audience recording of a powerhouse performance. The title is taken from the all new lyrics in The Man In Me,...The sound quality is as good as many soundboards. The main problem with the sound is one that seemed to be indicative of the Silver Rarities Label. The signal to noise level is way too low. (This means that you have to crank the volume to hear the discs). Since it is digital, and from a fairly quiet analog tape source, that isn't a major problem with this particular piece. This is definitely one to have in any collection." - Original Silver CDs > EAC(secure) > MKW Audio Compression Tool > shn - Available in SHN or Audio WAV

An incredible performance by Bob and the band makes this one stand out. Most songs are slightly slower than the released versions giving them a more majestic feel.. On top of that, Bob drags out the words to give every syllable it's own spotlight If you are only going to allow yourself one recording from this well documented tour, this one won't disappoint."
