I'm beginning to see a whole new side to Walter Skinner.
Apparently he blames himself for Mulder's abduction, and he's doing
everything in
his power to find him. Part of me is comforted by this, and part of me
is
creeped out. There's something about Mulder's picture staring at me
from the
back of a milk carton that is a little unsettling.
The "Have You Seen Me?" mailing has had an overwhelming
response.
Apparently Mulder has been sighted in Disney World, Elvis' mansion in
Memphis,
the White House, the U.S. Capitol Building, Niagara Falls...and if
today's
phone messages at work are any indication, his appearances at famous
tourist attractions has increased exponentially in the last three
weeks
alone. Too bad we haven't caught up with him yet.
So Skinner must be getting desperate. He's assigned another Agent
to help track down Mulder. Some guy named "Doggett." I can
tell he's
trying to get on my good side. He somehow found out about my obsession
with
Mallomars, but since he couldn't find any at the store, he bought
several packages
of Peek Freans Dream Puffs, which are an amazingly reasonable
facsimile of
the real thing. I know I should think of this gesture as sweet, but
Doggett
still reminds me of Morris Fletcher.
Maybe I'll be nice to him for a while, just so he'll bring me more
cookies.
