On November 12, 2002, the Laconia City Council created the
Motorcycle Week Advisory Committee (MWAC)
and adopted the following MISSION STATEMENT:

1.  Look objectively at the event and its impact on the city public relations and infrastructure.

2.  Determine whether or not it is in the city's best interest to assume responsibility for the event.

3.  Determine whether or not the length of the event should be changed.

4.  Examine ways to create a better working relationship with business involved in the event.

5.  Examine funding alternatives for costs associated with city, county and state agencies involved in the event.

On May 27, 2003, the Laconia City Council appointed the
following Laconia residents to the Committee:


Jim Baird (Ward 1)
Brenda Schmucker (Ward 2)
Sharon Fleischman (Ward 3)
James Joyal (Ward 4)
Richard Heinis (Ward 5)
Linda Peary (Ward 6)
Peter R. Brunette (At Large)

On June 3, 2003, the Motorcycle Week Advisory Committee held its organizational meeting
and elected the following officers:
