CITY OF LACONIA MOTORCYCLE WEEK ADVISORY COMMITTEE

TENTH MEETING-WORK SESSION

JANUARY 12, 2004-6:31 PM

 

MINUTES

 

 

CALL TO ORDER:

 

Chairman Peter Brunette called the meeting to order on the above date and time.

 

MEMBERS PRESENT:

 

James Baird, Peter Brunette, Sharon Fleischman, Richard Heinis, James Joyal, Linda Peary, and Brenda Schmucker 

 

 CHAIRMAN’S REPORT:

 

Peter Brunette reported that he is meeting with the County Sheriff on Wednesday.  He also reported that answers to letters he sent to State and County Government re Bike Week input are “slowly trickling in”.  He will report when more information is received and reviewed.

 

SECRETARY’S REPORT:

 

Linda Peary made a motion, seconded by Richard Heinis, to approve the minutes of the

December 22, 2003 Motorcycle Week Committee meeting. The minutes were unanimously approved.

 

SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS:

 

  1. Public Safety and Infrastructure-Assignment completed

 

  1. City Council Liaison-No report

 

  1. Laconia Rally & Race Association-Linda Peary reported that no Rally     

& Race meeting has been scheduled as yet

 

  1. State and County Government-Peter Brunette reported that only 2 responses have

been received from letters sent out.

 

  1. Local Businesses and Landowners-Assignment completed

 

  1. Vendors, Exhibitors and Non-local Businesses-Sharon Fleischman is making contact and will report next meeting.  Jim Baird said that he would like to see collection boxes for voluntary donations to the city from motorcyclists during

 

Bike Week.  Peter Brunette suggested that he look into the legality of this and report back to the committee.

 

  1. Event Model Research-No report

PUBLIC COMMENTS:

 

No public attendees at the meeting.

 

NEXT MEETING:

 

The next Motorcycle Week Advisory Board workshop meeting will be on February 12,2004 (Thursday) at 6:30 PM.

 

 

ADJOURNMENT:

 

On a motion by Richard Heinis, seconded by Sharon Fleischman, it was voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 7: 10 PM.
