Members of the Laconia Bike Weekend Action Committee, Harry Schilling and Dennis Gould presented the committee a written update of their activities. They have a signed
Petition with 404 voters, thus far, to ask the City Council to authorize a non-binding referendum for Bike Week that would ask residents to state a preference for Bike Week to remain 9 days, be shortened to 4 days or eliminated. They would like the vote taken in
November 2005. Mr. Schilling and Mr. Gould were both concerned mainly about the noise, road access, and speed as well as beer tents and sanitation issues. Charlie St. Clair,
Laconia Motorcycle Week Association executive director explained how his association is trying to solve these problems.
