Sadly, Yahoo/Geocities is going 'Premium', and those who cannot afford to pay them must put up with an innundation of advertising.
Being Canadian, this would mean that I would have to pay about $10 per month (with the exchange and all), and that is far more than I can afford to pay for a simple hobby which was supposed to be free in the first place.
The Internet was created as an 'Information Highway'. Since then, it has become littered with toll booths. There are few free detours left, but if you find it too much of a pain to click off all these pop-ups and decide to go elsewhere, I certainly understand.
