Satellite TV

HBO started cable TV in 1972 but it was Ted Turner who started satellite TV programming in the United States in 1976. CNN began 24-hour news coverage in 1980.

The "Eye in the Sky'' would mean a lot less to the ordinary Joe if not for Astro and satellite TV. While satellite TV programming is hardly distinguishable from terrestrial TV, satellite TV provides the edge in specialised programming like live sports and news casts.

You can also use your TV to play games and in the near future, surf the Internet
