Music videos

The Beatles were the first to have a concept video to promote their singles, Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields Forever in the 1967, but music videos as we know it today didn't take off commercially until 1980.

Can you imagine a current hit without a music video? When the popularity of a song depends not only on radio play but also air-time on MTV and Channel(V), music videos are now almost an integral part of music production.

The necessity of music videos has indirectly spawned a new breed of musicians whose sleek body moves are more important than their voices. It's probably true: video killed the radio star.
