Powers: Rogue's primary power is the absorbtion of powers, personalities, and memories upon skin-to-skin contact with another person. Her powers are involuntary, and she therefore covers her skin to prevent accidental contact. She also permantently absorbed Ms. Marvel's powers, granting her super-strength, flight, invulnerability, and at times, a seventh sense. Lately, Rogue's powers have became even more unstable, granting her the ability to use powers from anyone she's ever touched.

Origin: Just a young, Mississippi back-water girl, Rogue never expected her first kiss to change her life. When her best friend Cody kissed her, her powers absorbed his psyche, putting him in a coma. Rogue ran away, leaving behind everything she ever knew, including her name. In the woods, she was approached by a woman with the mysterious ability to change her shape. The woman introduced herself as Mystique.

History: Taking Rogue as her own child, Mystique, and her partner, the precognitive Destiny, raised Rogue from childhood. Mystique could not teach Rogue how to control her powers, but she did teach Rogue the art of war. When she became older, Rogue joined Mystique's terroist team, the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.
However, her first mission ended in disaster. Rogue was sent to dispose of Ms. Marvel, a former Avenger. However, when Rogue touched Ms. Marvel, she held on for too long, and accidently absorbed all of Carol Danver's powers and psyche, permantently. From now on, Rogue had two personalities, that of the real Rogue, and that of Ms. Marvel.
Ms. Marvel's life was saved by Spider-Woman, and Rogue made her escape, but the event changed her life. Rogue now had powers of own and could fight. She fought the X-Men for her foster mother, but eventually, the fight within her own mind was unbearable. Mystique, knowing she could not cure her, sent Rogue to Professor X, founder of the X-Men.
Although the X-Men did want Rogue as a teammate, Professor X saw in Rogue the true spirit of someone who wanted his help. Rogue herself was a relucant member of the X-Men, but this too, would change her life. She learned just what love and compassion, and eventually, she truly became part of the team.
Despite her brutal past and uncontrollable power, Rogue was a free spirit. She stayed with the X-Men, although Professor X could free her of Ms. Marvel's personality or her powers. Rogue sacrificed her life, alongside the other X-Men, in a fight with the dark god, Adversary. However, the goddess Roma resurrected the X-Men and gave the Siege Perilous, a gem that became a portal to safety.
The Siege Perilous would change Rogue's life again. In a fight with the robotic Master Mold and Nimrod, Rogue sacrificed herself to stop them. The three were thrown into portal, and the X-Men thought that had seen the last of Rogue.
In truth, the gem had judged Rogue and seperated her from the Ms. Marvel personality. Battling the enraged spector of Carol Danvers, Rogue fought the most intense battle of her life. In the end, she found herself in the Savage Land, and with Magneto's help, she defeated a part of herself that had tormented her for years. The Ms. Marvel persona was gone.
In the Savage Land, she found true love from the X-Men's greatest enemy, Magneto. For a time, the Savage Land's power stole Rogue's power, giving her the ability to touch. She remained in the Savage Land with her new love, believing Magneto had changed from his past.
For a time, the two were content, even the X-Men believed her dead and Magneto was becoming increasing violent. Their love affair ended the moment Magneto murdered Zaladane, a Savage Land priestess.
Rogue left the Savage Land and returned home to the Xavier Mansion. There, she found the team had changed again, along with their newest member, the thief Gambit. The two became romantically involved, although Rogue could still not touch anyone. Their romance was almost fairy tale perfect.
When the world was about to be destroyed, Rogue reached out and kissed Gambit. However, the world was remade, and Rogue found herself with an unconscious lover at her side. Running away from the dark secrets inside Gambit's memory, Rogue left the X-Men, but Iceman, another X-Man, tagged along to make sure Rogue was alright.
Rogue had tried to settle down, but found the life missing the adventure she had as an X-Man. However, her former life can back to end her short sojourn, when Joseph, a man mysteriously identical to Magneto, appeared. Taking Joseph, Rogue returned to the X-Men, only to find the team in a fight for their lives against the evil Onslaught, a man she knew as Professor Xavier.
Onslaught was defeated, and Xavier was returned to normal, and Joseph joined the X-Men. But Gambit's past would soon end Rogue's homecoming. Returning to Earth after a space mission, the X-Men were kidnapped by Magneto, under the guise of Erik the Red. Putting Gambit on trial, he forced Rogue to kiss Gambit again, this time pulling the dark secret from his mind: that had gathered the Marauders to kill the Morlocks. When the X-Men escaped, Rogue left Gambit in the frozen tundra to die.
Gambit would return, but Rogue shyed away from him. The off-on relationship seemed to be over once again. Rogue's powers were getting the better of her, and she turned to what seemed to be a cure for her problem: Dr. Agee, who promised to get rid of her powers. However, after Mystique intervened, Rogue faced the choice of going through with the procedure, and turning her back on Xavier's dream, or living her dream, as a normal human. In the end, she destroyed the machine, saving it from being used on mutants without their permission.
Time passed, and Rogue became leader of one group of X-Men, while Gambit led another. The two were still in love, but they kept their distance. However, when she was touched by a mutant Skrull who came to the X-Men with information from Xavier, the young alien's powers disrupted Rogue's powers and psyches.
Now, all the powers and psyches she had absorbed during her long heroic career were flooding her mind and body. She could shoot Cyclop's optic blasts, and Wolverine's claws were popping out from her wrists. Plus, her mind was laid to waste by the hundreds of personalities. She resigned as leader, her mind and body unable to contain their power.
When a team of X-Men, led by Storm, left the mansion in search of Destiny's diaries, Rogue joined the team, but presuaded Gambit to stay behind, not wanting him to see her in this condition. Slowly, she forced the psyches back and took better control of the new powers, but Rogue still has an uphill battle to fight, whether the X-Men find the diaries or not.
