Plot -
After just defeating the Dire Wraiths, the X-Men (Storm, Colossus, Rogue, and Forge) were
attacked by a mysterious shadowform, trapping them. Forge manages to break, and tries to
find Naze, his mentor who disappeared during the fight with the Wraiths. Back Naze is
trying to cast a spell, but ends up getting attacked instead, by some other entity,
leaving him unconscious. Aboard a grounded plane, Amanda Sefton was doing her job as a
flight attendant, when Nightcrawler, her lover, came and teleported her away. The two
reach Forge's citadel, only to confront the shadowform. Amanda uses her magics against the
form, but only manages to free Colossus. Colossus tries to help Rogue, but her contact
with the Wraith is causing her to turn into one of them. Then, above the battlefield,
Illyana Rasputin, the New Mutant Magik and Colossus's younger sister, appears, and uses
her soulsword to free Rogue and Storm. Amanda tries to hold back the shadowform, but it is
no use. Realizing that one of the Wraiths must have survived to create the shadowform,
Nightcrawler teleports himself and Forge to the roof. Forge then kills the alien, ending
the threat of the shadowform. Magik then reveals to her brother that during her stay in
Limbo, she gained powers over sorcery. Forge arrives to find the helpless Naze, while
Storm confronts her ex-lover, leaving the heart-broken Forge behind. Meanwhile, in the
Bermuda Triangle, Lee Forrester comes across a mysertious floating person. Swimming to
save him from a shark, Lee makes a harrowing discovery: its Magneto! Later, back at the
Xavier Mansion, the X-Men group together to discuss how to go about what to do with their
lives. Rachel, listening outside, listens quietly until she hears Nightcrawler say that
Jean Grey is dead. Rachel, who believes Jean to be her mother, becomes enraged, lashing
out at the X-Men. Rachel tells them of the horrific future where she came. The X-Men
decide that staying together is the option they have! |
