Jean Grey vs. Sabretooth

Plot -
The X-Men are forced to come to terms with Sabretooth being a permanent house guest in the
Xavier Mansion. Jubilee's nights are filled with nightmares of the villain escaping and
killing everyone she loves. Jean Grey tries to comfort the girl, but to no avail. Calling
Cyclops, Storm, and Beast, Jean takes the four to Harry's Hideaway, a restaurant in Salem
Center. Each of them express regret of the Professor's focus to keep Sabretooth in the
mansion. In the med-lab, the Professor continues his studies of Revanche's readily fading
body, due to the onset of the Legacy Virus. Moments later, Moria calls on Xavier to watch
a video of Psylocke trying to administer Sabretooth's psychic treatment. The beast tricks
Psylocke and tells her that only Jean Grey can give him the "glow". Banshee,
Moria, and Xavier watch, as Rogue and Gambit arrive at Sabretooth's cell to give him his
dinner. Sabretooth growls at the intruders and laughs off the X-Men's relationship as
pathetic, as he drops hints of Gambit's dirty past. Later, Jean Grey and Cyclops confront
Professor X about Sabretooth, but Xavier refuses to listen, believing he can rehabilitate
Sabretooth. Jean Grey decides that to be able to sleep at night, she will half to confront
the murderer herself. Facing off with the maniac, Jean Grey uses her telekinetics to toss
him around like a rag doll, all the while destroying his male ego. And in the end, Jean
refuses to give Sabretooth, saying that he wants her help, he'll have to do it the normal
way. Finally, Jubilee confronts her fears, and when she delivers Sabretooth's dinner, the
beast tells her to tell Jean that she's the real warrior. |
