Carter Ryking vs. the X-Men (Rogue, Wolverine, Cyclops, Beast, & Gambit)

Plot -
Carter Ryking, a childhood friend of Xavier's, has kidnapped him and taken Xavier to the
place called Almagordo, to uncover the real reason behind why Kurt Marko murdered Xavier's
father. Ryking, using his explosion energies, destroys a wall within the complex, only to
reveal a hidden staircase. In the Blackbird, the X-Men's Blue team, Cyclops, Wolverine,
Gambit, Rogue, and the Beast make their way to rescue Professor X. Rogue flies Wolverine
to the compound, while the others land the jet. Wolverine and Rogue make their inside,
find the staircase, only to be captured by Ryking. The others follow them in, and manage
to stall Ryking enough to free Rogue, Wolverine, and Professor X. The X-Men try to take
Ryking down, but Professor X tells them that Ryking is not their enemy. He was simply
trying to show Xavier that he think knows about his father's murder may not be the truth.
Meanwhile, back at the mansion, Jubilee runs from her shower to try to answer the phone.
Cannonball's on the other end, but when Jubilee tells him that neither Professor X,
Cyclops, or Storm is there, he hangs up. Jubilee is left to wonder why. Across the globe,
in Turkey, Zero teleports the slaves Rusty Collins and Skids to the evil Stryfe. They show
him the tapestry they stole, and the image closely resembles that of the centuries-old
mutant, Apocalypse. Stryfe tells them that this is the man that Stryfe is going to
destroy. Back in New York, the X-Men try to knock Ryking unconscious without hurting him.
Cyclops is forced to use his optic blasts to destroy Ryking's circuitry. Unfortunately,
the circuitry was keeping Ryking's power in control. Professor X manages to dull the
blast, but Ryking's power is dimished. The X-Men leave, wondering just what Ryking was
searching. |
