Plot -
Cyclops, still upset after finding his way back into the X-Men, is concerned about the recent happenings, of Wolverine being shown to be an imposter and the real Wolverine becoming Death. Phoenix, his wife, shows up to try to calm him down, but the fear is starting to get at the X-Men's former leader. Meanwhile, in Egypt, raving lunatics and alien Skrulls gather to welcome the appearance the Monolith, a creature the X-Men have paced in times past. Back at the mansion, the X-Men gather to try to figure out the best course of action. Aided by Destiny's diary, the X-Men learn that the recent events were seen by Destiny before she perished. However, during the conference, the X-Men are approached by a Skrull mutant called Fez. Believing the Skrull to be hostile, they attack, but eventually, Shadowcat, who was given an understanding of Skrull language while the X-Men were on their homeworld, manages to communicate that Fez has come looking for Xavier, a man he considers his hero. Fez wants to join the X-Men. In the Med-Lab, Colossus aks Moria about his brother, and discovers that Mikhail is recovering rapidly. Fez tells the X-Men about how the Skrulls are on Earth, working for some unseen dark god. Polaris, who wants no part in the upcoming battle, leaves, demanding that the X-Men have done to help her serach for her missing lover, Havok. However, Cyclops stops her from leaving, telling her that when this is all over, he will help her find his younger brother. Back in Egypt, Apocalypse, taking the form of a Egyptian, confronts the just-awakened Monolith, forcibly taking under his power. At the mansion, Professor X finds a passage in the diary tellin about the Twelve, a group of heroes that will save the world. The Twelve are: Professor X, Cyclops, Phoenix, Storm, Iceman, Sunfire, Polaris, Cable, Bishop, Mikhail, the Monolith. The X-Men decide the best course of action is to find the Twelve, before Apocalypse can. However, Cyclops realizes that the Professor must have left one name off. Professor X tells his first student that the final name was that our their greatest enemy: Magneto!
