The Hunt for Xavier

Chapter 1, Uncanny X-Men 362 -
Meltdown
The X-Men (Storm, Shadowcat, Marrow, Colossus, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and Rogue) are called to Nebraska when Pyro, a former member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, torches several small fields. SHIELD Col. Nick Fury tells the X-Men that Pyro was searching for their missing mentor, Professor X. Meanwhile, back in Westchester, New York, Dr. Reyes, a former X-Man and now a practicing physician, recieves a large shipment headed towards the X-Men's mansion. Back in Nebraska, the X-Men confront Pyro, whose Legacy Virus is getting out of control. They save the townspeople, but when they find Pyro, he manages to escape. However, before the X-Men can stop him, his energy shorts out, and Pyro tells to them that Professor X sent him to find them. The team returns home, and Dr. Reyes has the package ready, realizing it is a portable Cerebro. Shadowcat uses the Cerebro to search for the Professor, but finds two locations: one in Tajikistan and one is San Fransico.

Chapter 2, X-Men 82 -
The Hunt for Charly!
Four of the X-Men (Storm, Rogue, Colossus, and Gambit) free-fall down a large chasm in Tajikistan only to find themselves in a hidden ice city beneath the surface. Inside the structures are Dr. Renee Majcomb, a genetist and friend of Professor X's, and Nina, a young Mannite whose powers were taken from Professor X. Nina believes that the Professor has arrived in Tajikistan, but the monks of the ice temple are afraid for their lives. The X-Men enter a strange dream-like world, but manage to find their way out thanks to Rogue. The world is thanks to Nina, who believes the X-Men are here to hurt her. However, she realizes that they are Xavier's friends. The X-Men find Dr. Majcomb and Nina, but find that the threat Nina felt before is real: it is the physical manifestation of Cerebro, the mutant hunter!

Chapter 3, Uncanny X-Men 363 -
When You're Unwanted
In Alcatraz, the insane Toad and his captive Professor X wait for the X-Men arrive, hopefully in time to save them from the terror called Cerebro. The remaining X-Men (Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, and Marrow) search San Fransico for clues about their missing mentor. Meanwhile, another Cerebro begins to catalogue mutants in the area, including a SHIELD headquarters. Wolverine finds Xavier's scent, but it only leds to a dead end. So, he finds his old ally, the Black Crane, whose mysticism may help the mutants find Xavier. They begin their search in Alcatraz, finding the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants: Toad, Blob, Post, and Mimic. The two groups fight, until the Professor reveals it was the Brotherhood who freed him from imprisonment. But before the X-Men can reunite, they attacked by Cerebro!

Chapter 4, X-Men 83 -
Tomb of Ice
Back in Tajikistan, the X-Men fight against the Cerebro there, while Dr. Majcomb protects the child Nina. Nina continues to help the X-Men during the fight, including waking up Rogue and Gambit after they are knocked unconscious. The four defeat the monster, Dr. Majcomb reveals who she and Nina are. Nina spent time with Xavier during his imprisonment, and Dr. Majcomb helped Xavier free her from Bastion. Nina took her and Dr. Majcomb to this temple, because it appears, that Xavier himself spent a part of his youth here. However, before Dr. Majcomb can explain, Colossus is overtaken by Cerebro. He Imprisons Storm, and nearly kills Gambit. Rogue tries to get Dr. Majcomb and Nina to safety, but its too late. Cerebro captures Storm, and knocks Gambit unconscious. Rogue returns to help, accidentally absorbing part of Gambit's psyche. Cerebro defeats Rogue, and comes for Nina, leaving Colossus and Dr. Majcomb behind.

Chapter 5, Uncanny X-Men 364 -
Escape from Alcatraz
The other X-Men and the Brotherhood fight off the menace called Cerebro, while trapped in the former prison called Alcatraz. Shadowcat tries to seperate Xavier from the fight, but it may be too late. Cerebro tracks Shadowcat down, but not before capturing Toad. The Brotherhood fights the X-Men, trying to take Xavier for themselves. Cerebro re-enters the fight, while Nightcrawler tries to contact the other X-Men, only to find silence. The X-Men and Brotherhood agree to work together, as Shadowcat continues her attempt at escape. However, their combined efforts are not enough, and Cerebro tracks down Shadowcat, and captures her. Wolverine goes beserk, and damages Cerebro, but he still captures Mimic. The Professor is freed, however, and Nightcrawler escapes, in hopes of finding the other team of X-Men. Wolverine, Marrow, and Xavier realize the only way to find Shadowcat is to allow Cerebro to capture them as well.

Chapter 6, X-Men 84 -
Dream's End!
At Cerebro's base, Professor X and Nina are reunited, as not far away, the remaining X-Men (Rogue, Nightcrawler, Gambit, and Colossus) and Dr. Majcomb search desperately for their missing teammates. Instead, they find the other Cerebro robots, while Xavier and Nina are confronted by the real one. It reveals that Bastion sparked his creation, and that his dream, while peace on earth, would come at the price of freedom! Cerebro then uses Nina to access Xavier's abilites, but before the process is completed, the X-Men arrive to save the day. During the fight, Cerebro captures the remaining X-Men, but not before Professor X has the chance to pull his powers back into himself from Nina. Using the power, he frees the X-Men and their attack is renewed. However, Cerebro uses the Xavier Protocols, the designs that describe how to kill each and every X-Man. However, when the battle is finished, Cerebro find itself trapped, because it was a trick by Xavier. The X-Men attack again, ending the creature's existence. But before it dies, it frees all those who were captured, and fulling invigorates Professor X's powers. The X-Men decide its time to go home.
