| I got this email one day saying that the National Jewish Honor Society was looking to start new chapters on campuses around the country. I said that I would be willing to help initiate a group, only if there was interest. After putting an announcement on the weekly email, Sahar stepped up and said that she wanted to help start it. We had several meetings, starting accepting applications and soon had 16 people join. The purpose of this club was to offer an alternative to Hillel programming and to offer the Jewish community professional events and resources that they never had before. Alpha Delta Sigma, the name given to the organization intends to plan lectures, social events, and professional workshops such as resume writing, and other career building workshops. Each member of the organization is also expected to perform community service prior to being officially inducted as well as other times upon acceptance into the organization. Since we just started to get the group going, we have not had inductions yet, as we plan on doing them in the fall. Leaders of the group are: President: Sahar Vice President of Activities: Shirly Vice President of Community Service: Debbie Vice President of Recruitment: Abby Vice President of Finance: Yoni Vice President of Publicity: Joanna |
