Ah... weird people.

God love 'em.

Dave Andersen - projects:
Why is it that they can put a man on the moon, but you can't put metal in the microwave??

The Human Responds:
Shhhhh! Keep your voice down....

Dave, you have unwittingly stumbled onto the single largest secret NASA has. And by voicing your question you have opened yourself up to harassment by government agencies including the IRS, the FBI, the Secret Service, and the Senate Finance Committee.

Therefore know this: NASA unexpectedly achieved the lunar landing precisely because Neil Armstong and his buds accidentally stuck a spoon in the microwave and cranked it up on High. The resulting explosion sent these men into orbit, whereupon someone at NASA decided that they should attempt to run into the moon's surface in order to stop their stellar ascent. It was a public relations virtuoso that turned this historical gaffe into mankind's crowning achievement.

BTW, they stuck another spoon into the microwave to blast off the moon and careen into the earth's ocean.

Now be content in your knowledge and go about your mundane day-to-day business.
