Ah... weird people.

God love 'em.

tgnick - of nowhere, USA - signs:
Oh, great Wall Scrawler, please help me. I have wondered for many years about this and need your wisdom:

If Helen Keller was BLIND and DEAF, how did she figure out what they were 'signing' on the palm of her hand?

The Human Responds:
Little Hellen Keller, being a shrewd business child, dreamed up a scheme with her "teacher" in which she would pretend to be blind, deaf, and unruly. Then the teacher would "miraculously" cure her and they would sell their story and live off the royalties from books and eventually films.

Not all their plans came out peachy though; the Hellen Keller "Water! Water!" talking doll never sold well and she had to endure the inane Hellen Keller jokes that eventually became the fodder of elementary school yards everywhere, though she pretended not to hear them.

It was rumored that she liked to rent out entire movie theaters under an alias and watch 3-D films all alone with the sound cranked up, all the while laughing and cackling at the gullible masses.
