The Di Nerezza History:
 

The first Di Nerezza, according to Legends of the Clan, was Sixtus Tarquinus in 580 BC.  Son of Tarquin the Proud, of the Etruscan house of Tarquin, and first rulers of Ancient Rome, Sixtus was bitten by a snake in the gardens, and fell gravely ill.  Physicians pronounced him dead hours later, and were astonished to see the boy walking the grounds the following day. However, Sixtus was now infected by an insatiable need for blood to maintain his human form - the need for it so strong that at times a demon's face seemed to appear in place of his normal human visage.  Sixtus took the lives of several servants, and his youngest sister before his father destroyed him.  But his seed had already been planted in those whom he had slain - and from their crypts the House of Di Nerezza began.

The first Di Nerezza were almost human in nature - able to walk in the sun, they aged as normal mortals, and were only driven a few times a lunar cycle to feed on the blood of their fellow men.  However, as the curse of Sixtus passed from generation to generation, its demonic hold grew stronger until the modern vampire that is the Di Nerezza was created. 

Always driven by the need for power, the Di Nerezza have been witnesses to man's most catastrophic events. From the unholy reign of Nero, to the madness of the Nazi party, the Di Nerezza Clan has set into place events that ultimately resulted in chaos, suffering, pain and death for all involved.  They have evolved to becoming very much like the Sicillian maffiosi, extending unquestioning shelter and love for their own, and destroying all who might interfere.

Since the last millennium, the Clan has been led by Canio Di Nerezza.  Respected and feared by many within both his family and Kindred society, he tolerates no interference with his rule of the Family.  Canio is very much the 'Godfather' of legends - scheming, vain, cruel, and selfish to a fault, he is also loving and passionate with his family.  It in under his leadership that the Clan reached a position of great affluence and respect in LA; a feat he intends to repeat in New York.  With his new wife Antonia de Lancret at his side, along with his many children, the House of Di Nerezza seeks to rule the city they now call home.
