Curing the Body Without the Side Effects
            Have you visited the "
Why Avoid Pain Relieving Drugs" page yet? There you can read a whole section on how NSAIDs give dangerous side effects that can harm your body and may even cause death. Herbs are different than drugs because there are some that give very few to almost no side effects. For example, the bark on the white willow tree has salicylic acid as one of its ingredients. This same ingredient is also found in Aspirin. Both the bark and Aspirin have anti-inflammatory powers but there is one thing that separates them apart: Aspirin affects the stomach lining (See "Why Avoid Pain Relieving Drugs" for more information about NSAIDs and stomach lining) and the white willow tree bark doesn't. There are many other drugs that have little to no side effects like the white willow tree bark and would be an excellent choice for those who are too old to take pain relieving drugs.

Herbal Medicine Can Cure More People
People who are allergic to the ingredients in NSAIDs might find herbs a better choice for treatment. This is because many of the herbs have different ingredients than NSAIDs but still have the same healing effect. For example, if a person is allergic to a substance in Advil, he or she might try a herb instead that doesn't contain that ingredient but can still treat his or her problem. Herbs can also attract more elderly people than drugs can. If you look in the warnings section on Advil, you see that people who are ages 60 or older have a higher risk of gaining stomach bleeding. Thankfully,
herbs come in all sorts of treatment strengths -- some are more
powerful while others are more gentle to the body. For those who
are over 60 and have complications while taking drugs, they should
take the gentle herbs that do not affect their stomach too much
to cause complications.

Herbs are Cheaper than Drugs
The reason why we don't use herbs is because herbs are not
promoted and are highly under-utilized. If pharmaceutical companies
used and sold herbs instead of drugs, they would lose money because
herbs are much cheaper than drugs. You can save money by
producing your own herbs by planting them in your garden.
