Like People, Herbs are All Different
It is almost impossible to find two herbs that give the same exact contents. Therefore, it's extremely difficult to find a standardized source of herbs. Herbal contents can vary based on where, when and how the plants were harvested and how extracts were processed. This can be a problem for those who might suffer complications when given too much or too little dosage from each herb.

Some Herbs do not Give Immediate Effects
There are many herbs that do not give the desire effects immediately after intake. Some herbs may take up to several days to weeks before results show. Others require frequent in-take of the herb for long periods of time in order for the problem to be treated. These herbs are not the best for those who want to be treated as soon as possible and would be better off taking NSAIDs to relieve their pain in minutes.

Herbs May be Contaminated
Herbs might look fine to the naked eye but, if we look deeper we might find something that could harm our bodies if we consume it. It has been known that herbal products may be contaminated with hazardous substances such as fumigants (gases that kill pests), dangerous plant chemicals, pesticides (substances used to kill pests), toxic metals, and disease-causing microorganisms.

Many Herbs are Addictive
Some herbs contain chemicals that make the body addicted to the herb. This can be a problem because, more people will want to take a higher dosage or more frequent dosage of the herb. This increases the risk of developing problems and can also lead to death. You might also face other problems such as spending time in jail if you take illegal herbs such as marijuana.

We Don't Know Everything
About 2/5 of all herbal remedies are unsafe or their safety is not known. There are thousands of different herbs, and each herb contains tons of different ingredients and chemicals. Researchers will have to spend a lot of money and time to create a list of all the ingredients in the herb and also figure out if each ingredient or chemical is safe to the human body or not. Sadly, not enough research is being done and therefore many herbs are still pending to be discover if they are 100% safe or not.
