Herbs and Fevers
The easiest way to treat a fever is to go to bed and sweat. The body will then get on to business of repelling invading organisms and you will be fine later on. If asprin is used to reduce the fever, the defence process will be suppressed. If you decide to go even further and add antibiotics to aspirin, you will smother the flames even further. Although the antibiotics may kill the bacteria, they'll do nothing for your infected tissues because they will suppress your system's ability to do its defensive work. Therefore it will take longer to get rid of a fever if antibiotics are taken. So instead of attacking the fever, it is better a choice to use herbs and support the body's defence instead.
            - For high fevers, make an infusion of yarrow, boneset, and cayenne.
            - Wormwood and gentian can also treat high fevers.
            - Mild fevers can be treated by using yarrow and elderflower. These two can stimulate sweating to lower the body's temperature
during a fever and reduce the production of mucus in the nose and throat.
